yeah, I'll make it legal!

Sampling is only really allowed if the cpu hit of a synth is high ... like crystal!!

..like it would be impossible for guys with more modest computer specs to complete a track .... dont think it'll be an issue with Acidrack though, seems to behave alright!

Fast PC? The one I'm using I built and it has an AMD Quad core with 4 GIG ram and I still run out of power with some synths, though I still have plenty to learn about configuring the software aspect. So Acidrack is the OSC 10 ?
Would it be cheating to start working on a track before the comp begins?

No abstractcats, it would not be cheating ... go for it

OSC10 is gonna be Acidrack! .. cant hang about .. its too late to persuade me otherwise, but keep suggestions coming for future comps!

Uploading has now closed for the halloween comp, I'll get the voting thread up soon. One change to the voting .. should a tie result, entrants will be judged on who has the scariest pic of themselves!! ... so rake that pic out now in preparation .... or get your costume and camera sorted! ... dont post them yet though, the impact can wear off over time! ... just keep it handy just in case!

As I only mentioned this in passing having seen it on the freebie release news, I'll apologise if anyone had any better ideas.

I'm rather fond of it anyway and it shouldn't prove to give us the utter brain damage of some of our past challenges...

As Tattie mentions, it has already been updated and apparently patches in the first version may not work correctly in the newest one. As the synth comes with zero worthwhile presets we might wish to "present" them to the authors at the end of the compo so I'd suggest working with the latest version if possible.

I like the looks of Acidrack (the GUI, that is). I'm in unless something unforseen happens (like a new sound module or something
