The voting system seems to be ok, but I'm not the one counting the votestattiemannie wrote:.... hmmm, think I might have to roll my virtual dice again! .... and its not fair! This voting system was supposed to sort out this kind of situation![]()

Since this is the first OSC I've done I don't know how the voting process went before but it seems a good idea would be a poll would be easier to count as is you would not have to count and let the poll speak for its self...hmmm I'm probably over looking something as usual

Well, the concept behind this kind of voting is that it's supposed to be more thrilling and fun (though it's not particularly fun for me at the moment
) as the winners can change even at the very last minute
If it's a tie, I suggest a ballot (if that's what you call it in English) - voters vote again only for one of the two.
Yeager, what do you say?
(anyway, maybe by tomorrow the situation will be different)

OK, we'll do a ballot.... but we'll need to make it brief.... like 3 days.
But first, Congrats to Mac and Yeager for scooping joint first place
But, purely for the purpose of prize allocation, we're gonna have to seperate you
So,....
Deadline - Monday 26th!
Those who have already voted, can vote either Mac or Yeager .... so lets hear you .....
I'll get the ball rolling, I listened to both tracks last night, and as per my original votes ..... *Yeager*

Norfolk calling...
My tiebreak vote follows my main voting which gave Yeager the firm nod as top track.
Well done everyone and thanks for the votes - amazing considering I really didn't like the synth that much
Don't forget the Gargoyle comp guys
Cheers,
Mouxbar

Both track are great, I'm going with Mac for a two reasons 1- his composition reminds me of the first "space music"/"new age" what ever its called these days
I started listening to in the mid 80's and Mac may hire a Ninja to get me if I don't
I should say that I would buy both Yeager's and Mac's music, both of you do some
fantastic music!
Great job to every one! And thanks again to Tattie Mannie for running this comp and for the consolation prizes!
One final note, I noticed that I had one come in at No.13, thanks for the votes kids
Also, my place is No.13, its Friday and close to Halloween...GULP!...

Guys !
This is by far the most enjoyable OSC I've been part of.
The way the voting went makes it really funny
Personally I couldn't care less who wins, I'm in it for fun.
About the song :
I found out that Spunik was very good at FM-kinda sounds so I didn't want to use that.
The chordprogression used is very pleasing to everyones ears:
Am <-Chord
A/Ab/G/Gb/F/E/ D/ C/B /A <-Bass
Then switched to A major and back.
For me it was more a proof of concept, as I do not understand why this sound so nice !?
The first part up to the F, is of course the famous Stairway to Heaven/Taurus progression. Eventhough they used a D in there.
And I liked this :
So I kinda combined the two, although I'm not a brass player.
So my brass part is MUCH much more simple.( and remember I don't have a midikeyboard so its all mouse )and.. I can't improvise
This makes it not that ORIGINAL, so my vote goes to Mac !
Or am I not allowed to vote ?

A very hard choice... my vote is for Yeager. I just found it a little easier to listen to and it drove along better.

Cheers for the background re. structure and approach to your track Yeager ... very interesting stuff!
... and NO, you're not allowed to vote!
... cos, think about it this way. in the general voting phase, you're not allowed to vote for your own track, and same goes for the tie breaker. So if yourself and Mac decide to vote now, then you can only vote for each other ... which would have no bearing on the outcome!
However if I accept your vote and mac 'forgets' to reciprocate, he could end up with a single vote advantage .... so we'll remove that temptation straight away I reckon eh? ... even though I have no reason to believe that Mac would seek such an advantage.
.... or would he????
