 Obviously not obscure enough I'd say!

When I posted it I didn't know that they were Australian, or about their connection to AC/DC - thanks to Wikipedia, I do now.

Anyway, Barnadine, and the next one's yours...
Pithy apothegm goeth here...

The obscurity of this one is probably related to your distance from Australia:

Hint: He's singing in English. No honestly, he is.

Maybe too obscure then? Okay, same band, more famous song:

Name either song, or just the band. Aussie, active in the 1980s. Give me a shout if more clues are needed.

I wonder if that's the final 'alooooong' from Ol' Man River. Possibly Robeson (though my recording has him singing in a different key)?

Post

Yes it's Robeson. It's only about half of the actual "alooooong". Interesting about the different key - I don't have the CD in front of me - I recall this is a 1932 recording but don't recall the orchestra. According to Wikipedia, the 1936 version from 'Showboat' is the most famous.

Over to Barnadine...

Post

My CD lists neither orchestras nor dates. It does have track names and a blurred photo of the man though, so I mustn't grumble.
