That sounds like the kind of joke I'd come up with! I heard you were having a dedicated controller built for ACE by Randall at Synthcase.com. Is that true?!Urs wrote:I was contemplating to build a hoax around it, as if it was an accurate model of a Bahn Sage prototype or something

As predicted:
ACE User Guide
Enjoy!
(You'll notice that the screenshots contain new elements not previously shown, some of which are also not discussed in the manual. The custom modifications to the particular unit that ACE was modelled after will be described in an additional Circuit Bending Paper, including the infamous Tap The Map function)

You can't run audio through ace, can you? I don't know why I just thought about that, but not sample, more like use ACE as an insert or a send.......
Does that sound dumb question?

Sorry, but I havn't done any audio input. I might do that for Berlin Modular though...ckatrun411 wrote:You can't run audio through ace, can you? I don't know why I just thought about that, but not sample, more like use ACE as an insert or a send.......

Nah, no worries. Can't believe it took me this long to think of it.
I just finished reading your manual. Ace is still a killer synth, I don't think it, "lacks," it is just not, "full featured." Which is cool, cause that is the concept, and to offer an upgrade to the Berlin Modular when you release it.
I understand. Cool.

Haha, that was a laugh, that Bahn Sage!Urs wrote:..an accurate model of a Bahn Sage prototype..
However, what evades me is how come not a single developer dug in and made a Bahn Sage VST?
FOR REAL!

If the Sage was real and cost less than a Virus I'd buy it. The huge interface reminds me of a Mono/Poly.
I noticed some typos/mistranslations in the manual:
1. "reasonable."
2. "short."
3. "reasonably short."
I suggest 1 or 3.
After reading through the manual I'm extremely curious about the modular aspects of ACE. I think it would make an excellent intro to modular synthesis for someone like me who is historically shy of such complex systems.
I noticed some typos/mistranslations in the manual:
This should be "...is a socket..." (singular) and should probably specify the right side.ACE Manual - Mapper section wrote:The output of the mapping generator is a sockets at the bottom...
This should say "To destroy the link..." or "To remove the link...".ACE Manual - Knobs section wrote:To defeat the link, select "MIDI Unlearn" from the context menu.
Should say "...all outputs have dark grey rims, but those of the inputs are light grey." You could keep "silver-grey", but it seems odd.ACE Manual - Cables section wrote:In ACE, all outputs have dark grey rims, those of the inputs are silver-grey.
You have three options here:ACE Manual - Patch Page section wrote:Some of the folders may be currently "collapsed" to save space and keep the list reasonable short.

I suggest 1 or 3.
Maybe instead of "bright square", it should say "solid square".ACE Manual - Patch Page section wrote:These have a small bright square next to the folder name - to open a collapsed folder, click on the square.
"cantral" should be "central".ACE Manual - Patch Page section wrote:The cantral window of the patch manager is a list of all patches in the currently selected folder.

Yep...
Manual makes a bit more sense that way.

also would it be possible to insert the effects anywhere in the signal path?
If you ever make a modular deal with audio in I'll jump right on it. I love the sound of your synths but I tend to use synthesizers as processors mostly.
Anyways the ACE looks rad.

If you like Urs stuff then I suppose you know that there is a FX version of Zebra coming called zebrify? Basically a monophonic Zebra with audio in, pitch tracking and envelope followers to control almost anything you want.Ah_Dziz wrote: Darn.
