This is curious:

"More Feel — True Dynamic Response.
AmpliTube 3 gear models give you THE most realistic playing feel — not just the tones — but the actual dynamic response of their hardware counterparts. Nothing comes closer to the feel and touch of playing through a real rig than AmpliTube 3. Plus, with IK's proprietary VRM™ (Volumetric Response Modeling) technology, you can add ultra-accurate rotating speaker effects, free dual mic placement plus room ambience and response to custom craft your tone." -IK

Also

"More Tone — Every Sound you can Imagine.
AmpliTube 3 is the voice for your soul. With the largest collection of ultra-accurately modeled gear, creative effects and flexible routing features, you'll never run out of sonic possibilities. Every sound you've heard, and ones you haven't are here… your sound is in here." -IK

I can't wait to see how this all, "plays and sounds."

I wish they had in addition a generic convolution based cab module where you could load your own IR, instead of having to use the VST alongside a third party convolution plugin and bypass the cab.

Since they already use convolution (and just give the impulses different skins), it must be something fairly easy to implement.

Cool. Just saw this in the new AmpliTube 3 Overview video.

Modeling the cabinets is all done with convolution? No kidding. I was just wondering how they did this. The same is true for the mics? ANd the amps?

Somehow I thought the circuits were modeled.

And the effects, algorithmic

I am guessing only the cabs and now the reverbs are convolution based.

Here is what the press release had to say about the reverb
New impulse-based reverbs are now used in the entire chain, from spring reverb to room ambience, which ensures the most realistic possible representation of your recording environment
The cabs were already using convolution in AT2, so I am guessing it is still the same. They probably interpolate between different IRs in order to get the free mic placement.

I just hope IK aren't seriously going to keep the old AmpliTube 2 amp head graphics for AmpliTube 3.
Just look at the difference here:

Do we really need ghost knobs and pointless VU meters?
I'd like the graphics to get the Fender treatment too!

And I really don't see how the old models can be reworked to have the level of accuracy found in Fender if the controls still don't even match the real hardware.

(BTW, I really really hope the Ampeg SVX graphics look like the SVX standalone ones, not the X-GEAR versions!)

Hope the sonic difference is equally impressive ...

Did that come from IKMM? I didn't get that email.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you can't use jam points with the upgrade promo code. So if you have less than $50 of points, they aren't really useful for this purchase. I'm a little bit disappointed by that.

Yes. I've received the email from IK 45 minutes ago.
