Thanks to those who have reviewed my track. I hope to get over this laziness and write some comments myself. Oddbod, the brass are very aggressive and high register, so maybe that is why they sound terrible to you. Sounds maybe a bit over the top to me, but pretty much what I was going for.

Laguna Rising: Interesting track, and well done. I'm not sure it would be perfect for just any car chase, but it might work for something a bit comical ... maybe a go-kart chase.
The protagonist of the film is: Jack Black, opposite the villainous John Hodgeman

Escape the Chaser, Laguna Rising: This piece creates a lot of different imagery in my mind, but car chase isn't one of them. At times it does sound to me like miniature and/or slow-motion cars of some sort, but not something out of a Burt Reynolds or Peter Fonda movie. The piece is very well done in any event. There are some really interesting dynamics. This was a highly enjoyable listen.

Light of a distant star, future-bit: This one has some great dynamics and movements. Also, the music is a good match for the picture you posted. Well-done.

Back To The Island, offthewall: This is a real change of pace; and it sounds like a part of the movie you're describing. I really like the change-up at around 2:00 or thereabouts. I'm sitting here doing other things on the computer, and it's some nice 'folksy' or 'celtic' background music, then boom... at that transition point it becomes the center of my attention.

Avatar 2nd Ending, lex_strooder: This is a cool piece. I really enjoyed it. One thing I wondered though; is whether there is auto-tune on the voice? I mean, it sounds like a voice, but it also sounds like maybe it's auto-tuned. In any event this piece is really atmospheric and listenable.

The Girl From Canvey Island, oddbod: This reminds me of Sergio Mendez. +1 on the Almodovar reference.

Spaceblind, t_riddy: This is a big change of pace. The opening, 'electronic' sounds have a lot of appeal. The organ comping is cool. All in all, a well-built piece. ... i like that outro too...

James Bond Retro Lounge Remix, pheeleep: This is tight. It straddles the line between covering and being original. It seems a bit restrained toward the ending, but the minimalist riffs outro are really effective/cool.

Kill Me Gently, Jerru: I really like this, but would also like to hear a version of this which had an organ sharing time with the guitar(s), like Jon Lord/Ritchie Blackmore or somesuch.

Quest of the Nephalim, Patrick9: This one is ambient/minimalist/orchestral, with some really surprising twists of rhythm and dynamics. The drum outro finishes it off well. This piece matches the picture presented quite well.

The Big Journey, mvrasseli: This does sound quite theatrical. It sounds like a well-crafted classical piece in the vein of Copeland; like a cross between Dvorak and Copeland. I might change a couple of the 'timbres' but overall this piece is very effective and well made.

A Winter Night, keyman_sam: At first this kind of sounds like something from Windham Hill, but it evolves very well from there. I really like the piano 'comping'/outro beginning at around 2:14. That's like Kabalevsky.

Sci Fi, beanpole: I'm really enjoying those modulating, droning, detuned synths on either side as they interact with the rest of the mix. This would be good music, matched with a Troma Films release. In my book, that's a good thing. ymmv Yeah, very well done.

Don't Be Afraid, DrApostropheX: This sounds like something which might fit really well with a Tim Burton movie. I like the musical arrangement, and the lyrics/singing/storytelling is slightly creepy, and funny at the same time.

Sand Storm, Nystul: This is beautiful. It conjures up a bit of sandstorm imagery as well. When it gets louder, the piece conjures up battle scenes. Then, it drops off into the aftermath. Well done!

remedy, jenderton: Sounds like some excellent sci-fi/jungle ambience.

Big Alien Mothership, xh3rv: The music fits the title of the piece well. It grows well when the synth leads kick in at around :50-1:00, then takes another leap at around 1:40. Yeah, this one really builds, and conjures up a lot of imagery. It plateaus well through the outro.

Movie Theme, D.H. Miltz: Now that was worth my time! I could hear this in a beatnik/hippie/western/motorcycle movie.

august dogs, nikp2000: For a second here and there, it's like the Shaggs to me. Overall, that's some fine guitar work; as well as the other instrumentation. The piece has definitely got a theatrical vibe. I could see it in a movie like Repo Man, or something filmed in the 'American Southwest.'

wisdom, Emerald Tablet: It sounds kind of trippy. The pretty music, combined with the odd voice; it's spacey.

Frünobulax X vs. Planet Earth, rachmiel: I don't know if this is 'music' in the conventional sense, but this recording is mind-blowing. I have never heard anything quite like this. Great stuff! (This piece threatens to tear a rift in the space/time continuum.) I liked the way it ended, with the sounds of the spaceship leaving...

Melody for the Moon, Sepheritoh: I really like this one. Production-wise, it has that 'wall of sound' kind of thing going. This could definitely be movie music.

Aquarius Ghostbusters, liqih: This is fantastic! It's a jam all the way through. Did I just hear a bit of 'hair' in that mix?

The Origin, Lady J: I really like this one. It's got what i consider to be a sort of 'goth/metal' vibe to it, which is cool.

What...if?, thomekk: This is really cool. This one reminds me of the Shaggs, mixed with a bunch of other stuff. I could picture this being movie music.

Steppin Out, rifftrax: This is some excellent club music. It reminds me of Black Box. It would definitely fit during a dance routine in a film.

The City, me109: It kind of reminds me of Hall and Oates or 10cc or Atlanta Rhythm Section. There's a lot of really tasty stuff in this arrangement.

Devant son miroir, Daniel Pompougnac: This mix is excellent; (to) the point of sounding pro. It's very well arranged and played, too. Well done!

Lux Supervincit Omnia, Interferon: This definitely sounds like a movie. It really builds well.

Chipping In, Echo Voodoo: This would be good music for a movie about skateboards and/or computer hackers. It matches your description well, too.
I like the driving, 'underground/chip' sort of texture to the overall piece.

Fool's Gold, Sleek Month: This whole production is top-flight!

Cherry, shrikant: That's quite the back story. This music is very charming, and fits the back story. I really like the Casio-type sounds in the 2nd half.

Becoming, Psy-T: This has a definite cinematic quality to it. There's some good stuff going on with the arrangements. The last minute is my favorite part. That's a great ending!

Summer on Oak Street, Mike777: This is a good late entry. It caps off the others quite well; and it sounds theatrical. That's a solid arrangement.
