sound really promising!Ok, been hacking this seq thing up. The manual describes a very flexible system of note events and 5 controllers at a range of 2 bars. Max 256 events. The flexibility is that it can be turned into six simultaneous sequencer tracks, and can be made to do envelope type of stuff for controllers or pitch... Wow. Loving this synth more and more

Hi
Me too is more than happy to beta test Venom VST. I particular had looked forward to the Vyzex. envelope, multi and pattern editor they promissed. for example; pattern is midi sequence of eight quarter(or sixteenth?)-notes read somewhere, but not having an visual vst editor for it is akward when learning venom. for example make drum pattern is a bit difficult when there is no editor.
I'm a software test engineer by trade and can do some simpler c++ (mfc/stl) development if needed. Have knowledge and software to debug win 32/64bit code and send test reports. can test on linux too but got no mac (only ipad)
It would be sad for mankind if the hardware in venom never came to fruition as it was designed. I've played with it a bit , and boy , what a sound!
regards,
zombiesound

Amazon had the Venom as a Lightning Deal yesterday, selling it at $174.99.H.86 wrote:Sweetwater is clearing them out as well for $199
Does anyone know why the Venom is being discounted so heavily? Is there a Venom 2 on the horizon?

Not likely....Avid sold M-Audio to inMusic and I believe they've abandoned the project...too bad. Guess they're just trying to blow out remaining stock.

How is it going? I'm really looking forward to this editor.mkdr wrote:Cool. I'll let you know when i get to that point.mikebenson wrote: I'm willing to beta test the venom vsti editor if/when you get to that point. How's the development going?
The progress has been kinda slow. I've had too many projects and things to do at the moment. Currently I've built the dataset which defines all controls. Nearly all knobs and switches are done too. Binary format conversion is working too. Now i just need to arrange the GUI, check the sysex messaging system(it's a bit different to other synths) and it should be beta testable
I also noticed in the manual that it might be possible to include an editable Arp to every patch. And it includes controllers too! So basicly, if i can hack it up correctly and if it indeed works as i understood, we could have an editable arp per patch which can double as a modulation sequencer. That could be sweet
I'll do a simple editor without the seq hack first though..
