OT but...This skin makes the synth sound better for the contest
:hihi:

Just kidding, but just thought I would throw that in there in case someone hadn't seen it yet. I use it myself, nice job by Limeflavour :)

Hi folks,
I hope it is just me don't getting that kick from this synth. Tried the whole day but somehow it's not making "click". Not that it is a bad synth but I miss some "character". Perhaps it's the more Virus like sound (I had a VirusTI last year and gave it back after two weeks).
Found out that I prefer the old soundbanks with the lofi bug!
Will give it a new try tomorrow morning with a fresh set of ears. In the meantime I have uploaded some old (and very old :-o ) stuff to soundcloud.

Have a nice weekend and make more music,
your middle-aged Gerald

You're just prolonging the inevitable! :borg:

I used to long for peace between the humans and robots, but now I never want the war to end! :D

I'm proud of you, even with obstacles you are there in the first line :)

Have a good day :)
I'm just a glutton for punishment.  :help:
Any technical obstacles I've encountered pale in comparison to the obstacles from my limitations in composing, playing, programming, producing, mixing, mastering, etc... so no excuses as far as the final track is concerned and I hope it doesn't get voted on any differently just because I used the demo. Not that I think anyone would, but just wanted to put that out there.
Now if anyone wants to give me votes because I'm a mac user slumming it on a pc... I guess that would be okay. :hihi:

I'm just a doctor, not a soldier

@evo2slo: I agree with Irion: your effort is heroic!

@bzur: The real heroes are the human medics, who in the bloody aftermath of the robotic sonic assault risked life and limb to re-contain the dripping brains of countless victims. I just fear that the robots may yet return...

Dear friend, we must be on guard, but without fear :box:

What? No kind words for the Robot Army's Mobile Repair Units? They've been hammering out dents for weeks! Let's hear it for the MRUs!

I wonder which side IrionDaRonin's cyborg will choose. Human or robot... he must be feeling very torn right now.

Cheers for the submissions and nice going with the demo Evo2slo. :tu:

@middle-aged Pocvecem ;): Also having trouble finding the sounds I want with Z3ta even tho the sounds are obviously great. Slightly strange situation. Surprisingly it's the pads that are standing out so far. (checked out ur 'oldies' there too, good stuff)

Hi guys, just popping in ( flying through ) to offer my 2p worth.

It will undoubtedly surprise many of you, but I think the decision to run a commercial synth OSC is cool! My aim when I ran the comp was not only about accessiblity, but inclusiveness ... and it is obvious that choosing this particular commercial synth has opened out the interest level. It's good that the comp will generally carry on with freeware for most comps, but the evidence in favour of the payware departure is all in the thread.

Yes, I did dig my heels in re. freeware, but I also foresaw a time where we might exhaust our options having already covered arguably the best free synths.

The thread is the life of the comp, and it is excellent to see that there is a lot of discussion and exchange going on... particularly in view of the fact that many involved in the discussion will not take part. It's good to discuss stuff, and get to know one another. For me, the process of exchanging info and general chat/views was by far the most rewarding aspect of running the comp .. therefore I see OSC in a very healthy state when a thread runs to 7 pages midway through.

I'm afraid I may not be able to enter .. not entirely because it is a commercial synth, but finding the time over the next couple of weeks. The work I do with synths is entirely non commercial, and this is why I will not be buying Z3ta. No offence, and no reflection on the quality of the synth, it's just as I make my living from live music, new strings, shoes and shirts, phone calls etc are where my budgetary essentials fall. But if all goes well, I will certainly review, vote, look forward to what you guys produce, and wish you all the best of luck.

Back to the level of discussion though. This aspect to me was the only thing that was missing from the comp recently, in spite of the solid professional job V'ger and co are doing. So it is absolutely superb to come in and see such a buzz going on. Mr blitz says 'buzzkiller' and whilst I understand where he is coming from, and whilst I admit I would have had some reservations about the commercial synth departure, I am convinced that it is a good move.

After all, we have championed the freeware developers for some considerable time, and if our efforts in highlighting their generosity and selfless ingenuity helped then on to sell some of their products, we would have been extremely pleased for them ,and pleased with ourselves for our part in their commercial success ... wouldn't we?

And so ... here's wishing contributors all the best of success and fun in puting their Z3ta tracks together, and personally look forward to the next freware comp ... if I'm not too snowed under!!! :)

Nice post Tattie, :) indeed a good sign when the discussion is there but the proof of the pudding will as always be in the number of entries so let's see..

And not entirely surprised by ur support of a pure payware OSC since it was u who set a sort of precedent with 'OSC 23: Any Synth' allowing calls to use both free- and payware synths. (won by a freeware synth i might add.. ;))

So far my little song is working out ok. Figured out a basic structure, and what the main presets are going to be.

I have had Z3ta+ for a couple years, and messed around with it a bit, but never actually used it in a song before. It's fun getting used to it all over again, and just seeing (actually hearing :hihi: ) what can be done with it.
