It is an emulation present in the Stripbus. You can choose between "Solid State 4k", "Solid State 76", 'Tube 4k" and "Tube 76". These four modes emulates fet or tube comp sounds.

Oh, haha! I though this was a new compressor or something. Understood, carry on (Monday-brain).Endor-8o8 wrote:It is an emulation present in the Stripbus. You can choose between "Solid State 4k", "Solid State 76", 'Tube 4k" and "Tube 76". These four modes emulates fet or tube comp sounds.

Well I would love Sknote to create a real vintage compressor plugin. I think it could be killer...

What about GTS-39?Endor-8o8 wrote:Well I would love Sknote to create a real vintage compressor plugin. I think it could be killer...
And I suppose the Bus models could be considered vintage compressors too. They're modeled after old studio favourites, anyway...

Well I don't really know much about the GTS-39 but I know that it's more a kind of limiter/clipper than a compressor. And concerning the Stripbus it's a bus comp, well you can use it as a comp on a single track but for that kind of work it's not the best imo.

I'm sure it's only a matter of time, with Quinto...Endor-8o8 wrote:Well I don't really know much about the GTS-39 but I know that it's more a kind of limiter/clipper than a compressor. Yes, the fix for 64bit tube76 issue is coming with the new Bus v.2 (under testing yesterday and today).
Bus v.2 includes the new opto compressor model. Real fun
About EQs: you'll see the new Pultec-style emulation (branded) this month!
About vintage compressors: Bus isn't just a Bus processor. It includes full featured vintage models! Don't overlook it. FET model, solid state model, and now this new opto. It is almost the only compressors set I use today. On single tracks and groups.
GTS39 is a real vintage limiter. It is nota brickwall limiter. You cannot use it to get a "snap" because of its fast attack, but it works wonders on drums, voices, bass, and almost everything I use it on

Well there you go. I figured Bus counted as a vintage compressor. The only reason I don't use it more on tracks is because it's a little too heavy, processor-wise on my machine.quintosardo wrote:Yes, the fix for 64bit tube76 issue is coming with the new Bus v.2 (under testing yesterday and today).

quinto, i must say that if you make a vintage style and parametric EQ's... your plugins would become the only ones i use (well, other than instruments, ampsims and a brickwall)
EQ's in Strip are often more than enough but sometimes i'd like more precise controls... just take the darn EQ knobs from Strip and put them into 6-7 band parametric EQ with lo/hi pass and it'd be a winner!

I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

Bus suffers from unnamed midi controls
You fixed it for Strip!:) (the reason why i want the names is because that's what i will see on the led display on Maschine. Right now my first row of 8 controls shows blank-gain-speed-action-emphasi-blank-blank-blank ... Go figure
In your dropdowns, when there's for instance four options (like the four emulations in Bus), they're changed by midi cc 1,2,3 and 4. When you turn a knob which has 1-128 (or if it's 0-127) it's pretty hard to nail the right one. It's usually ends up on either 1 or four (especially since maschine uses 1-100% and not 0-127 ...
The Sat knob on Bus does nothing in Maschine. It works in EnergyXT for sure, but in Maschine there's no change in audio at all. I've tried to change other settings to see if anything "blocks" the Sat, but nothing helps.
I hope things were easy to understand .. and that i didn't give you a lot of extra work

Ahah Quinto you always know how to talk to us !! I think I'll have to warm up my paypal account again for some SKnote plug-ins soon...Opto comp and pultec eq, you pronounce some magic words to my ears, can't wait to discover it. I don't have any real pultec-emu plug-in (just the Son-Eq), I was hoping you would create a well coloured eq, I'm glad you do ! I saw the mattertone video, this beast seems to be an awesome transient designer and a very interesting dynamic controller! I'm really impressed by the way you anticipate my needs, I just bought the "transient monster" from Stillwell last week.
About the stripbus, well yeah it can be a great comp but I should have said that I personaly prefer to use some more punchy/pumpy comp in my hip-hop projects (like Elysia Mpressor or Softube's FET for example), in this particular case the stripbus sounds a bit shy to my ears. But apart of that this jewel definitely does a great job !!
Thank you for the efforts you put into your plug-ins and for your will to not only release updates that are only consisting in bugfixes.
