meh, they weren't popular long enough, nor did they hold enough influence over other bands to accomplish such a feat.

and tbh, i thought they were fun, and i certainly don't have the urge to switch the station if by chance they do come on the radio. i mean, not like other artists mentioned in this thread.

but srsly, let's save an honor like that for bigger 80s bands like Culture Club or U2 or Bon Jovi or Motley Crue or Poison or someone else that really hung around a while and did some damage to our ears. ;)

I'm with Chuck, you need to check your facts because they are wrong... only a couple of those songs are from the 80s.

I bought Rumours when in came out... in 1977 (not 1982) which had these songs:
"Second Hand News"
"The Chain"
"Don't Stop"
"Dreams"
"Never Going Back Again"
"You Make Loving Fun"
"Go Your Own Way"

"Rhiannon" and "Landslide" were on the 1975 Fleetwood Mac self titled LP

"Tusk" and "Sara" were on 1979's Tusk (possibly played into early 1980, hence the confusion here)

Only "Hold Me" and "Gypsy" were from 1982 (Mirage)

Set Wiki straight. Here's the track listing they have up for Mirage (1982)

But if you go to Amazon and look at the track listing for Mirage only 2 of those songs are on the album.

What Gene Simmonds seems completely incapable of grasping though is that with the exception of the first 3 or 4 albums, Kiss is a f**king awful band and they've relied on exactly what Rihanna et al have done to be successful - good publicity.

If Kiss were to be judged on songs alone they would have been long, long forgotten.
