I got this freebie twice -thanx facbook! - though i won't use it.
I demoed it and it has good presets and sound,
but i have some synths and won't use more vsti. (Maybe a free Omnisphere ... Hey Spectrasonics, release a free Omnisphere with only 20 GB sounds and full functonality ! :)

Post

i'm really liking this synth. Diva may be better, but I don't have it so that's a moot point.

this sounds so old fashioned (in the best way). i will get a lot of use out of it. but then I love the boards of canada, eno, tangerine dream, tomita, pink floyd, kraftwerk, dark 80's music,...

having a blast playing with this, thanks Arturia. :D

Once again, your info is completely incorrect. A Facebook account was not required.
wrong

their server went tits up and they switched the offer to FB, which required you to have a FB account so the serial could be sent to that email account.
Absolutely incorrect. I was able to get the free synth without a Facebook account and so were many others. Yes the server was hard to reach, but David from Arturia also posted to help those with issues.

Some people live to bitch.
Right, so they didnt put a notice on their site saying you cant get it here anymore get it from facebook?

Talk sense for christsakes

Give it a go. I know you've got Diva but really this has a charm all it's own.
ive also got minimonsta, waiting for that to go 64bit.

nice that the arturia one is 32 and 64, so no doubt it will get tried at some point.

That settles it then.
Either some of us must have hallucinated that message or Arturia was only giving out the offer to special people and showing the rest of us the message saying it was no longer available from the Arturia site.

At the start of the promotion a Facebook account was not required.
By halfway through it was. Every single relevant link took me straight to Facebook. I was given no option but to use Facebook.
For me the serial request form was not always there. I didnt even get to see it. For most of the day I couldn't get the relevant pages to load and then it was all links lead to Facebook.
I emailed them after the switch to Facebook asking how to get it without Facebook and have still not had a reply.

Still waiting for the mail from the fb sweepstakes mail. Sad to see that some that got it will never use it.
Finally!

Didn't get it. I only had about 2 hours(!) time, and first were the servers down and then it was only available through Facebook (what I don't consider "free" and of course didn't like and didn't do).

So even though I am aware of the high quality of Arturia products, for me they lost reputation for (1) setting up a fake "free" product (yes, when I tried to get it, Facebook was the only way), (2) for being unable to anticipate the demand and configure their server capacities accordingly, and for (3) not extending their offer after it became obvious that many people were unable to get it due to their limited server capacities. This doesn't really give me confidence to buy their products in the future. But then again, I already own hundreds of plugins, I should be happy that there is no new temptation now :)

Yep it got over subscribed. Its free there's a limit to server loads!

Facebook was a good way to work around the facebook server load, well done Arturia. Only took a couple of minutes to set up a new email address and facebook account.

Auturia delivered within the 48hours promised. Great and fab

It was free and you didnt get it, that's not fake you simply missed out and got upset.

It was free ffs what do you expect. They found a solution via facebook and taking the time to promote to help meet demend!?

Facebook thgey gave you a solution, you dont like it then you miss out.

What do you expect them to do - buy more servers just for a freebie release? They clearly did their best to anticipate demand, they had several backup plans in place, torrents and the Facebook account. It seems to have worked fine for most of us, they even had a thread here and an email to contact. And it wasn't a "fake" freebie - they needed an automated system to identify people who wanted it - the "like" system is one built into Facebook, it's not like it costs anyone anything. I think they have handled this pretty well overall and deserve nothing but gratitude.

I got it from the Arturia page about an hour after they opened for business.
