hi dave, which vst comes closest, in your opinion? tia
I'm personally not actually worried if it sounds close or not, I wouldn't know if it did even.

But lots of ppl do, and if you label it a clone its going to be scrutinised

I always seem to be surrounded by other Daves. It's so confusing. Some people still call me "LD" (short for "Little Dave," once used to differentiate me from "Big Dave," a friend who was much taller than I).

The tech, for whatever reason, just isn't quite there yet.
The Scope Minimax sounds every bit as good as the Studio Electronics ATC-1 and I personally prefer both quite a bit over the Little Phatty. As a straight Minimoog software emulation, Minimax is still my favorite.

What makes DIVA so great in my mind are its MS-20 bits - which sound as close to an MS-20 as any non-MS-20/10 I've ever heard, even other analog hardware - and the ability to mix those bits with the Minimoog and Juno bits. I'll take the DIVA Juno oscillator through the MS-20 filters over a real Juno any day of the week.
Considering the hardware to run Minimax is more than three times more than I paid for my ATC-x QFS... it had better sound every bit as good... though I'd have to hear that for myself... and I won't because... well I won't spend that kind of cash on hardware like that. I don't think that even includes the software, does it? I'm listening to their audio demo now and it's not impressing me. Very kind of clean and pristine sounding. :?
