Where did you see this? I went into my account and there was no upgrade path indicated....

I hope so.VariKusBrainZ wrote:No doubt Bitwig will be offering a tasty crossgrade for Ableton usersliquidsound wrote:If that's the casemaschinelf wrote:Ok, now this is really odd pricing ... If someone owns Live 8 now, they can upgrade to Suite 8 now for 164 euros, and get Suite 9 for free upon release.
And if you (like me) own suite 8, then it seems the only option is to upgrade for 249 euros when its released. You've got to be kidding me. This has to be a mistake., my Suite license is going for sale, collect and invest in BitWig no matter what.
GREED!!!
I think its just an oversight and they will provide an upgrade offer for those of us that own everything.
Who penalises customers that have paid for everything and supported them for years but rewards new users who will be paying peanuts?!?!?

Yes, Ableton does now seem to be a company that doesn't reward it's loyal customer base, but rather extracts the most money it can from them by making the upgrade most expensive for those who already have invested heavily. I'm mildly ticked, but they're probably right and I'll upgrade anyways...
Has anyone seen anything about control surfaces? Up to now we've been limited to 6, but with mapping keyboards, apc40, quneo, launchpad and then various ipad/ipod surfaces, I was hoping this would be expanded. Perhaps it's just a minor detail that doesn't make the big front page headlines...

If you own the suite, as far as I can see, it won't show you an upgrade path. I can't find anything on price moving from Live 8 Suite to Live 9 Suite in my account.jc_vt wrote:Where did you see this? I went into my account and there was no upgrade path indicated....

Guys there is a FAQ under Help section. Everything about upgrade is explained (i think)
I already own Max for Live, do I get a refund if I purchase Suite now?
The Suite 9 upgrade price for Max for Live owners in our webshop has been automatically discounted, and it's 50 EUR / 65 USD / 65 CHF lower than a regular upgrade.

COMING SOON , if you click on Live on the Live website , and scroll down you'll see the upgrade prices , kind of hidden if you ask me . I guess there main focus is to sell NEW licenses with free 9 upgrade at the moment . March 2013 is the release date thats quite far away .

Hidden? You gotta be kidding me. They are super big what are you talking about? They are taking more then a half screen on my 23 inch HD screen(no i don't have auto zoom enabled). Surely we are looking at different pages but they are anything but not small..todd sweetland wrote:COMING SOON , if you click on Live on the Live website , and scroll down you'll see the upgrade prices , kind of hidden if you ask me .

well, it doesnt really explainkmonkey wrote:Everything about upgrade is explained (i think)
(1) why upgrading from Live 8 Standard to Live 9 Suite is considerably less than the price listed for upgrading from Live 8 Suite + Max4Live to Live 9 Suite?
(2) why there's an upgrade price from Live 8 Suite to Live 9 Standard and what happens to all the other stuff one has already paid for if one takes that, especially for owners of Max4Live and MAX6. Is this the audio industries first 'downgrade unless you pay extra' ??

People are clicking SHOP and the upgrades are not showing , note I said KIND OF , some people are having a hard time trying to find the upgrade price , it took me a little while because I was on the SHOP section and not the LIVE. Not trying to flame the Abes or anything .

Go to the Live 9 page and scroll way down. The price is still ridiculous.
I own Suite 8 and M4L. This is my price:

$234? I can upgrade from Live 8 to Suite 8 for that price and get a Free Suite 9.
Bullshit.

the page is about 12 times the height my browser will display. putting the prices right at the bottom on the 12th page-worth is 'kind of hidden' particularly when the utterly-obvious-and-immediately-visible 'get 25% off' shop link right at the top of those 12 pages takes you to a link with completely different pricing.kmonkey wrote:Hidden?
