Wow, Diamond Orchestra is my 3rd Kirk Hunter Studios library and I have to say: there's hardly any full fledged orchestra library with that high quality considering the price. Really impressive.
To my question: a friend I make music with also purchased a license for Diamond Symphony Orchestra. Can I give him my downloaded content or are my license information within the downloaded files?

Not sure I understand the question here. If both of you have purchased the license, what is the need to share the downloads?

We both work separately, just fellow musicians. After he heard DSO he also bought it. Can he use my downloaded files or does he have to download whole 62 Gb package again? His 6 Mbit/s line is very slow and downloading all would take about 24 hours.

Just downloaded and unzipped Diamond. I did have to rename the solo_strings_1 and solo_strings_2 to add the double underscore at the start of the file name.
So, all of this is under /KH and I think I have everything in there.
When I try to use the "Add Library" function in Kontakt 5 and point to /KH or even drilling down to a single sub directory it says "Library Not Found".
I can however load the *.nki files with no troubles.
What am I doing wrong here?
Is the Diamond Symphony Orchestra composed of "Soundbanks" and not a full "Library" ?
I am a complete Kontakt noob BTW, a UVI refugee, so be gentle
Also, is there some kind of overall Getting Started Installation manual?
I'm finding doc scattered about and it's very confusing to me.
Thank you for any advice!

Hi there,
Yes. Diamond can't be added to the library display in Kontakt but it's no big deal and actually easier for me to browse instruments this way:
1) Have a shortcut (or alias if MAC) on my desktop for my "Diamond" directory.
2) Open my host and load Kontakt
3) Open the Diamond folder and drag and drop any instrument into the black window in Kontakt and the instrument loads.
I then save the multis when I have a collection of instruments in Kontakt that I know I'll use again or maybe add to or modify
and re save the multi.
Also, I've created my own folder called sk_multis (sk my initials) and inside of that I have sub folders called by_song and templates
Since there are so many instruments to choose from in Diamond I also have an instruments folder of my own
and inside of that I have a folder called orchestra and inside of orchestra ... brass, wwinds, strings etc.
and when I find an instrument that I know I will want to come back to I create a shortcut to it and put that shortcut
into the appropriate folder in my instruments collection.
Then I can easily get back to my favorite instruments by right clicking on the shortcut for the instrument,
opening "file location" and then once again like always, dragging that instrument into the Kontakt window.
You can't drag a shortcut into Kontakt.

Ok, I pulled the trigger and have started downloading the many, many files. However, many of them are failing after downloading for e.g. 358mb, and the remaining file type is a 'zip.part', which I can't open. (e.g. 01_Concert_Violins.zip, 00_Concert_Str_Combinations.zip, _TVEC_3.1_Instruments.zip)
Other ones are showing as finished downloading but in fact are only a 1kb file which doesn't open either. (e.g. 08_Concert_Cellos_Mute, 12_Studio_Violas) I am retrying them as I type this.
Some of the files are downloading fine, but I can't continue downloading 400mb+ files only to see if by chance it works after downloading.
Has anybody else had these problems? What did you do to make it work? I'm on a PC using Firefox 48.0.2. I tried using the Flashgot Firefox extension to download the multiple files but it downloaded weird files with very long names of various characters. The issues I describe above were from downloading each file individually (right click -> save link as). A download manager would be ideal but at this point I just need to get them all even if it's the slow manual way.
Thanks in advance.

My guess is you'll have to do them no more than 4 at a time and let time finish before starting others.
the zip.part is an incomplete part of a .zip that is currently downloading or failed to complete.
Or, get to a place that has a very fast and reliable internet connection and download them there.

When I downloaded them last nite, I could do 6 at a time. Anymore than that and I would get failures. I used uSelect iDownload for Chrome under Windows 10.

Hi. I just downloaded and unzipped this. I'm excited to check out everything. Downloaded a midi file of a quartet so I could focus on choosing the right sound. But the solo violins are really quiet. Also the piano, celeste and harpsichord have a lot of reverb, and no obvious way to dry them up. Is what I hear what I get?
Is there a manual?
Thank you!

The piano was recorded pretty dry. The others can sound more dry if you reduce the "release".
