It's the rules... you just need to tweak the synth to get drum sounds. (BTW, U-NO ends up being pretty easy to get some awesome drum sounds).
I making now some progressive trance demo for challenge but there is only one problem in my project is kick drum. Other sounds sounding good. And I don't know how make drum (what I need) in U-NO :(
I think the secret is to turn the resonance up to maximum to get a self-resonant filter. Them play with cutoff and decay.
that and flip the switch to down in the middle of the VCF for upside down envelope.
Great tip by the way, thanks.

Hello everybody,

so i am going to participate the OSC for the first time this month and while i don't have a problem by getting a good kickdrum, i somehow can't manage to make a nice snaredrum sound. Can anyone maybe help me out with a tip? Much appreciated.

Post

Aren't there drum sounds in the included presets? Programming sounds is probably one of the criteria for judging entries in this contest ;)

I have trouble getting a decent snare sound without some layering. I like compressing a thick beefy sound together with a tight clap sound to simulate the top of the snare then blend in some noise with a long decay to simulate the bottom of the snare.

Welcome to OSC, look forward to hearing your track! :)

Thanks a lot evo2slo, layering is a good idea, i will try that. Thanks for the warm welcome as well.

Thanks :)

Corrected in my post now

Welcome newcomers and cheers for the submissions so far all. A pleasure to have what appears to be yet another bug free synth on the program, but then all TAL's stuff are known to be solid.
