Am I right in deducing that the bass box is the only one with oscillator waveform selection?

I had a synth delivered yesterday, a tiny one too but listening to your soundcloud (great stuff) love the weird noises i think you'd love it.. it's not a korg but it's tiny and makes a big noise.. for nerds like all of us lol ala Rocket :hihi: :hihi:
Thanks for listening :) Yeah there's been a ton of these cool little synth boxes as of late. But then I still have my MFB Nanozwerg sitting here for over a year and I've only used it on 1 or 2 tracks because I'm lazy. I actually had a dream about it the other day, guess I'm feeling a bit guilty about it just sitting there getting no love

Anyway, the MFB Nano is amazing - square, triangle, sawtooth, PWM, sub osc, noise, envelope, LFO with one-shot, multi mode filter with all 4 filter types, audio-rate modulation. Sure, it's not as pretty or fun looking as these groovebox type gadgets, but they sure as hell packed a lot of features into it's ugly black and yellow casing :D

:)

Not very computer friendly looking at the specs midi hub to connect all 3. Why no midi out or thru. Why use sync is there some advantage over midi. NO USB or VST editor.

criticisms based on missing synthesis features are pretty much a sure sign you don't 'get' what these groove boxes are really all about. how you program & play them is really what's going to make them sound awesome. criticisms about the sequencer would make more sense ;)

imo, of course. but by all means there's no harm in tempering our enthusiasm a little so sure, lets keep our sound-designer hats on for a bit and think of better ways to spend $150, it's not hard!

Or perhaps it doesn't mean anyone here suggesting expanded features doesn't understand the purpose but, instead, Korg should realize there is a market for something like this but a little more expanded in features.

I'm sure they do realise. Last time I checked KORG were a big {enduring} company, with a large ever evolving product range. They can put out specialised instruments like these, and they've nailed it - especially at this pricepoint and the hack/modify friendly nature of the units. These are their $150 grooveboxes with a clear foundation on roland x0x boxes, sorry but "why isn't it a more expensive all-purpose synth" type criticisms are just without merit imo. just seems to miss the point in a big way. Better to start another thread asking if they'll re-issue the polysix, or maybe mention some specs you'd like to see in a totally new all analog poly keyboard etc. or something along those lines. imo.

I wonder what channel they'll receive midi on or if they're omni

Did you figure out if they'll store the sequence when powering them off?

Post

he said in the video the 8 patterns stay in memory
by the look of it and korg system, im pretty sure there is 16 shift functions on those Chiclets/ribbon, so midi channel 1-16-omni is probably one of them

i'm pretty sure i saw wave select on the key unit in the sonicstate clip, even tho the rep said only ring and ring something had square and all other modes were saws

edit: screencap

nevermind it's lfo wave election
clearer shot

here's the rest of the functions that are written on the pads
