OK "Audio Suite to the rescue"
Anyway I'm HAPPY! :wheee:
Oh, thank god it's not just me!

Confirmed, on an Early-2008 Mac Pro, Cubase 7.5.2: UltraChannel loads with a good 20-30% CPU doing nothing, and when I tracked a single guitar track, just using the O-Pressor and Pitch-delays, my CPU was way up to about 80% at 128ms buffer!

Ouch. I think there's a memory leak. I Might have to just use it for mastering, or printing fx for now. :?

Finally got it, thanx Eventide!

But I got absolutely zero experience with iLok. My music machine is offline. The only way to activate that offline pc is with an iLok dongle? Also scared at the CPU usage reported here. Got stucked... Eventide has iLok free demos? Tried to request demos for their older plugins and I got a blank page.

You don't need an iLok dongle, you just need an account, or you can authorize it to your machine.

NO cpu problems here.

Amazing freebie. Really amazing..I can clearly see some companies selling half of these features for at least 50 bucks...

This is really great.

What are you running it on, out of curiosity?

Win 7 64 bit, Ableton 9.1.2 64 bit, eventide plugin 64 bit

When i load it i have fluctuating CPU from 1% to 2%. When i enable all modules i am stable at 2%. Seems ok to me. I loaded more instances and all ok. Tried it on cubase as well. No problem.

Btw i can't stop being amazed. Great great dynamics, awesome saturation, amazing micropitch...all for free...doing wonders on 909 drums

Yeah, it sounds amazing! Obviously not coded for older Macs. Oh well. I'll write their support.

I got mine :)

But I haven't installed or used yet.

Wow, X-Mas comes earlier every year.

CPU on i5-4670K is ~3..5% (Win7, Renoise 2.8, 64 bit)

Used some presets, first impression: great!

My take is that Eventide probably is in extreme circumstances. They have probably realized that their future in the hardware business is not so bright anymore. But they have probably also realized that their future in the software business is not too bright either.

They had a sale recently, and my guess is, that this was not a big success. Simply because what they offer is not that compelling at all. Their stuff needs the stupid PACE/iLok and their current plugins are lacking in many ways in comparison to competition. Blackhole is easily replaced with Valhalla Shimmer and STW Reflex, H3000 Factory is old and fiddly. Even discounted they are not something that make you scream out of excitement like a little girl.

So they need some exposure and giving away the UltraChannel is a good way to do it. It's basically another channel strip with EQ and Compressor so I guess it would not sell like hotcakes anyway. But it is a good way to show a bit of Eventide's pitch shift and delay algorithms to lure people into taking a look at their more interesting plugins from Anthology II as they become available in native format later. Also by giving a way such a big full-featured plugin they will generate a lot of buzz.

I can assure you that their stompboxes and especially the H9 are selling like hot cakes right now.

Woah...just browsing through these gets me all my favorite 90s-00s era sounds! Now I know how they got that tight vocal sound. :D

BEWARE - IF YOU ARE BROWSING THE SOUNDS DONT DO IT WITH HIGH VOLUME ESPECIALLY NOT HEADPHONES. The preset switching (while live audio) caused such huge spikes that they muted Reaper's mains automatically (registering +33dB! :x ).

So, have monitors on low volume while browsing presets.

See, I play guitar and recently picked it back up again, and I did not know that. Now they're on my radar because of this freebie. I can't remember the last time I was this impressed with a free plugin from a commercial vendor.

Ok, I must be stupid, where's the share code (the one I should be giving out I mean)?
