hm. ? 1997, got featured on a popular Oakenfold compilation. Not goa, but the album had some goa.spaceman wrote:I'm wondering if you fellow tranceheads can help me out here..
I've been trying to find this track I heard almost 15 years ago. A friend played it from a compilation CD, but he was Swedish and -sorry to stereotype- like most Swedes I knew back then, he usually preferred to copy his CDs instead of buying them, so he may have had his track information wrong.
He thought it was from a distance to Goa or destination Goa CD, but I must have heard most of them since and nothing sounded like it.
The track was pretty fast trance, I guess you could call it Goa, very much in a minor key with a dramatic, emotional build up. Not your cliche break down and build up, but a constant high energy build throughout the track. He thought it was called something like "journey to earth" or "journey home" or something hung with "mission" in it, or something similar, but again, her may have had his track listing all wrong because it sounded different from the rest of the CD and he may have copied an extra track to an existing compilation cd. The track was probably late 90's.
Any suggestions?
A trance classics playlist. 1991 to 2004. (Over 300 tunes!)

Aiynzahev, this list is disgustingly amazing! Incredible! I DJ'ed from 1995-2005 in London and Cape Town and I remember owning a lot of these vinyls at various points during the years. I moved a few times over the years and I got rid of a lot of these records and I'm still sad
These are a few tunes that aren't on your list that really push all the right buttoms for me.

If we get the the more hard trance, then Lab-4 needs to be mentioned.
I saw them @Fridge in Brixton a couple of times and they didn't disappoint live either!

@ spaceman & Aiynzahev , haha...what a trip down memory lane. I love Lab 4. I also saw them live a few times and I even got to DJ before them at a party once. I met them and they seemed like pretty normal cool dudes. I saw them at the Fridge too as well as the Astoria and the Brixton Academy. The hard trance scene in London in 2000-2005 was just so epic. We used to go out on the weekend and come home with packs of flyers and the occasional mixtape or CD. Some of my mates used to organise parties in west london so i'd play there sometimes and my flatmates even started a hard trance label at one point and so we'd have stacks of vinyls all over our lounge. The after parties were also legend! Not so much if you were our neighbour though...
And this is probably my favourite hard trance track of all time. If I could pick one it would be this....
This also floats my boat....

I still fondly remember the hard trance parties at the Brixton Academy. Chilling out on the balconies, dancing like mad downstairs. I burned a hell of a lot of calories therekev2525 wrote:@ spaceman & Aiynzahev , haha...what a trip down memory lane. I love Lab 4. Paul Van Dyk did some decent stuff in the past, the bassline in this one great
Another one I like, darker, but the bass changes really makes this one a favourite of mine
