Does this mean that I could install CCC, authorize Z3ta+ 2 (once they have fixed the problem) and then deinstall CCC when it's authorized?
I think that might actually be the case. Hopefully.

Just gave CCC another shot. Installed the version I downloaded last week. Opened it and it says it's outdated and asks me if I want to update. "YES, of course, please, do that!" ... some strange error message :(

Ok, so I downloaded the current version of CCC manually, installed it, entered my credentials (which are just working fine on the Kack-walk page), and error "Authentication failed!"

I somehow think the CCC can't handle the special characters in my password (BTW it's just: $). I guess they forgot to implement UTF-8 for passwords :D :D :D

Wow, just read this topic....
I only have Z3TA+ FROM cAKEWALK,
but knowing these things, I will stay at version 2.1.
The so called 2.2 updates are minor things, so I't not a big loss for me.

Don't just quit CCC, but LOGOUT, then reopen and login and install/authorize. Working fine for me now.
Doesn't help at all and they don't seem very keen on fixing it. Very disappointing....
Just tried. It works fine. Downloading, installing and logging out didn't work (demo mode), but after logging in and installing it a second time, it is correctly authorized.

By the way, I downloaded the CCC yesterday evening, today I installed and it gave me the notification about a newer version, so that may (or may not) have something to do with it working correctly. :|

$ is not a special character, nor is UTF-8 needed for it. It's part of ye olde ASCII standard as well.

It's not "so called", and it's a pretty good and substantial update with a lot of important bugfixes.

Ok, I thought that could be it. Thanks for pointing it out.

The credentials should be the same that I use when logging at cakewalk.com, shouldn't they?

If you are on Mac, it's probably related with permissions (an old curse that affects Mas OS since as long as I can remember - at least back to 10.2). I had a hard time finding this, but I finally did. CCC defines a folder in Library... (or User/Library...). I don't remember the exact sub-folder (perhaps Application Support, but not sure). It happens that folder doesn't have the right permissions (it doesn't allow the application to write into it).

I had to locate the folder and change permissions manually. Then, I finally got CCC to launch. After launching, I changed the folder it downloads to User/Download (or something like this).

It was a while ago, and I don't remember exactly what I did step by step. I'm not at home now, but I can come to you later. This thing in Mac OS is tricky. I already told them that they should take the default folder outside of Library - change it to User/Documents/Cakewalk/CCC or something, and make sure the folder is created with the right permissions.

If Cakewalk insists on using this broken Command Center I guess I'll just pass. Very unfortunate way to do business.

Ok, perhaps it's not a "so-called update",
but i don't want to install another license center.
And I will not.

+100!!!

Thought I'm alone with that "demo-joke". But, after reading all the posts here, I must say: "Cakewalk, that's ridiculous!"

Well, no reply to my ticket for 5 days now. Great service!

No status change for the bugs i reported 2 weeks ago either. Good ol' Cakewalk. :tu:
