Oh drat! :) I thought you might be referring to to DUNE 2 with your 4 letter clue. It also shares 4 letters with the name of its creator. Congrats to Taifunk!... Well done! Got yourself a nice sounding synth there. Great demos Lotuzia, and thanks for putting the comp on :tu:

This chalenge is in end? If no my guess is DCAM: Synth Squad (DCAM have 4 letters :) but i dont know if SYnth Squad is counting for it. And this synth sounds similar to me as the audio demos)
A: 11 - (if some audio demos was layered with more sounds (like melody and bass) then 13)
B: 12 - (if some audio demos was layered with more sounds (like melody and bass) then maybe 14)
C: 17 - (if some audio demos was layered with more sounds (like melody and bass) then maybe 19)
D: 19

maybe so and in any case thank you :tu:
wait for the announcement of the official winner
anyway couple of days ago after the latest suggestion I understood clearly that it was *....... It could not be otherwise and yesterday when lotuzia said the number of presets and that the name of the synth had four letters in common with the name of the company (in this case Dune and Largo)It confirmed.
However I wanted to stay in the game even with my latest post...

but..

Hi OB 8000. Only one instance of LArgo per clip. I like to balance when possible the presets so that one can make a bass/chordal work/when possible melody as well by playing a single patch ( as you can do with a piano or EP). I think these kind of patches are heavily inspiring when writing/performing music. At least for me.

And yes, unfortunately the game is over.

wagtunes wrote:With that last clue and going through this thread, I figured it out. I feel better about not being able to identify it as it's a synth I never demo'd or ever even heard before. For whatever reason, reading about it, it just didn't interest me. Now, after hearing it, I guess I'll be adding it to my collection someday.

I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing.
Well if you think it sounds good, its certainly a good thing, because it will add an unique sounding synthesizer to your arsenal.

As we all know, a synthesizer is not only a pile of spécifications, or features. It has also a more/less distinct/unique sound. And in this particular domain, Largo ..... just delivers.

The only way to know is indeed to demo the synth. Or, possibly, to have attention driven by some sound examples. I certainly hope these 60 clips will help some people to get interested into Largo, and demo it.

TAIFUNK WON THE GUESS THE SYNTH 21 CONTEST.

Congrats :)

:tu: :tu: :tu:

(I'll need your détails -name-adress-email- to transmit them to Waldorf. Please PM me)

I'd like to give a big thank to WALDORF and especially ECHO (at Waldorf) and INGO WEIDNER. Without her help, and my good friend Ingo, none of this would have happened.

Thanks Lotuzia thanks :)
thanks, merci, grazie :wheee: :wheee: :wheee:

you're a great conductor of games .,really funny but also really really hard :phew:
as I have already written, you are able to create incredible sounds even with a single oscillator and I invite anyone to say otherwise after listening to your soundbanks
The best thing about this game was to feel the emotions that you send with your sounds :)

about the synth there is no doubt is one of the best synth out there for years :tu:
it is true, is very expensive and I could never buy it and I am really happy to have won it
because I am poor but I also have a bit of talent and now I have one more tool to express it
this will complete my huge collection I do not make the names and the number but I can say which all together arrive at half the price of Largo and now I have 3 of the best synth around :)
Lastly Largo is not an old synth!
Waldorf Largo is a new classic and when it says that a synth has its sound and its character this is the perfect example.
I wish you all the best and thanks so much for this fantastic gift :tu:

Sorry for my strange English :hihi:

I echo what you have said. Lotuzia is very talented at what he does. He's making me a better sound designer by example.

I have to admit, I was very surprised at the sound of Largo. As I said, I never had any interest in it for whatever reason but these demos have certainly changed my mind and there is a very big possibility that I will be adding it to my collection.

So even though I didn't win, thanks for this contest. It was a real eye opener.
