Forgive me, as this is really just semantics and my own armchair psychology dabblings, but isn't the true sociopath tantamount to a narcissist...incapable of empathy? Or is that just the extreme end.
Ha ha suck it!

Yes. Sociopath is probably a bad example on that. However, people like Manson have been able to be empathic enough to manipulate people, even if thier intent is sociopathic? I am no psychologist though.

I think Barbie Girl is genius pop-art

Had Kraftwerk come up with lines like "Life in plastic, it's fantastic" it would be hailed as genius

It's a lot of fun, and there's depth there if you're looking for it.

You are partly right about that. Where narcissists often can have problems understanding the world from other than their own point of view, sociopaths can mentalize, e.g. understand how their behavior will be perceived by other persons but they use this ability to their own benefit through manipulation and thus have no empathic emotions for the subjects they are deceiving. Further, they are not necessarily narcissists in the sense that they idealize themselves (though comorbidity is possible). Narcissists can have a great deal of empathy for anyone who admire them and agrees with them. Sociopaths can have none at all and even be alienated to human emotions we normally would apply to ourselves, e.g. intellectually they know what empathy is but cannot even feel sorry for themselves (in contrast to narcissists).

To me nothing beats Yazoo as far as pop goes. The naked mechanical monophonic synth lines' contrast to Alison Moyet's soulish voice all wrapped up in simple and beautiful melodies. Stunning. There isn't a Yazoo song I don't like.

If "intelligent" music solely refers to classical compositions, 12 tone music or complex jazz/fusion, I'd say f**k it. Intelligent to me includes making the most out of the least and Vince Clarke has always been a master of that.

A: Correct, the moon landings were a lie and that's why America caused terrorism.
Oh. So what you are saying is that "popular" music is influenced by "popular" culture? Hmm. According to that, things would be very different.

Just watch "I dream of wires" and then you get a cameo from some former kvr mod who though says virtually nothing, will give way to many elitist monks who will tell you how bad pop is and how stupid you are for trying to emulate modular synths and actually make music.

Best line? "At some point, just hit record" which to most, falls on deaf ears (because we don't know which host will accurately record the performance  )

Despite constant tweaking will eventually sound like everything else. So for modular enthusiasts (which includes deadmouse) you TOO can be copied.

Now, where are the samples of that?

O' for words never spoken by man before...the search for the one true original sound still goes forth. :hihi:

To me everything can be redone but it does not equal popular. Neither does it make it hipster either. They're just sounds we use to make our own statements....

I think you will find the plastic/fantastic rhyme had been done to death well before this abomination appeared, probably about 5 minutes after the invention of plastic.

It's the art of repetition. For example:
In the deserts of Sudan
And the gardens of Japan
From Milan to Yucatan
Every woman, every man

"Yes Love of my life, I love shopping for shoes with you".

that was easy :D
I'm tired of being insane. I'm going outsane for some fresh air.

Anyhow, if you really get bored with your repetition, you can throw in something completely different. For example:
Hit me with your rhythm stick

Post

hit me
I'm tired of being insane. I'm going outsane for some fresh air.
