I upgraded from the editor to the studio version. It's not a very intuitive program. Studio One and Melodyne works better (with ARA). But it is great for sounddesign. Pasting overtones from one instrument to the other is only possible in Melodyne Studio. It's great fun.

Shame the Melodyne forum is no longer, and I hate the likes of facebook,
I hope someone starts a new forum.

I've been thinking about trying the demo for studio 4
does anyone know If you install the trial and then buy the upgrade do you just activate the trial or do you have to go through uninstalling it and then installing the proper version?
Has anyone had any good results with the new studio version?
Simon - how did you find it for sound design?

I haven't received my download link/license yet, I paid via bank transfer 2 days ago so that might take a while (strangely they don't support paypal) and I am eagerly awaiting itPaulnz wrote:

I'm finding it pretty awesome for sound design. I loaded a random synth arpeggio loop I'd made, did a polyphonic analysis of it, changed the chord progression around, sustained all the notes longer, messed about with all the spectrum controls, blended that with a bit of the resynthesis, and ended up with what sounded a bit like a fairly demented brass section. Not even remotely similar to where I started. I'm extremely excited about this update and can't wait to play with it some more!
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

Mind posting some before/after examples? Maybe a soundcloud link? I'm curiousdeastman wrote:I'm finding it pretty awesome for sound design. I'm still on v2.x and no complaints. I'll wait till they get the bugs/issues sorted out. But the sound design aspect has piqued my interest.

I'll see what I can do, but I don't even have a soundcloud account.keyman_sam wrote:Mind posting some before/after examples? Maybe a soundcloud link? It's pretty straight-forward; I just started uploading private tracks for feedback. I can upload directly from Studio One, which is nice.

Woaaa, Celemony's customer support is extremely slow, I transferred the money for my studio 4-upgrade last Tuesday (online banking), sent 3 mails to support over the week to ask for my license and still haven't received any helpful reply other than a ticket confirmation. I'm dying to use this thing for sound creation...oh Lord, let Monday be here sooner than later.

I'm trying to demo this and it's being such a pain in the arse.
On two computers now I've activated the "Trial" but it is still running in "Player" mode with no editing available.
Restarting the application prompts it to be activated again and there is no longer a trial option.

I am WOWed by this upgrade and the shaping of harmonics/re-synthesis features it offers, here is my first encounter with Studio 4 live on video, processing an electric guitar flageolet soundscape from one of my libraries:
