Holy $#!+ you guys

Doug1978, lay off the coffee.

Let people make their comments about demos or lack of demos and refunds.

No one is going to find comments from actual users when they have to read between your posts.

:dog: agreed. Except I think he was chasing his own tail on this one.

Elxsound, if you stop using my quotes to score cheap points, we might be able to move on
And if people want to ask me questions, as per el-bo, then I'm always going to respond.
It's not f**king rocket science.

Indeed Sound Author.

Doug1978 wrote:We're now going round in circles el-bo, so to cut to the chase:

The company doesn't do demos. You want them? Contact Output, you might get them.

In the absence of a demo, I think it's reasonably good that the company offers full refunds. Some companies don't even do that.
Clearly, that offering is not enough for many people on this thread.

And if you're so worried about losing literally a couple of quid via PP, then how on earth can you justify contemplating buying the plugin in the first place??
If I was struggling to raise funds, there'd be plenty more important things to think about first than yet another FX software program.

Yes, I imagine quite a few people here would just love to have a fully working demo that they could use at their leisure (or could install/reinstall it if there was a limited time period).
But a fair percentage of them wouldn't ever then buy the software, would they?

At least with this company's method, there's some commitment towards paying (and yes, I appreciate that some people will want refunds but the company probably get more sales this way than with endless unlimited demos).
Certainly, Output seem to believe in their business model, non?

Even without a demo, you and I are not blind to what this plugin does and how it operates are we?
Output have provided a fair bit of info, there are quite a few videos available online and a number of reviews too. That's how I assessed that I probably don't need this plugin - is that really too hard to understand?
And yes - even if there was a demo for the current version available now, I probably wouldn't use it for the sensible reason I put in the above post.

Perhaps some glowing KVR member reviews will come in during the next few months? Perhaps some exciting updates will occur?
I might be tempted then to buy it. Let's see...

It's tough titties that some people can't afford this plugin at the moment.
Save up, sell something, go on the game if you really want it that badly.

As put above, it would be nice to hear more from people who have actually bought and used the plugin.
Then I might be tempted to buy it.

I expect you and I will continue to disagree el-bo.
C'est la vie...
I haven't even visited the product page. I have no interest, I just made a joke and now seem to be carrying the brunt of the concerns. I think these are fair criticisms

Either way, I can't afford it, and even without giving it a look, I know I don't need it

None of this means I am arguing for arguments sake. I truly don't want to see this become the way things start to go. You might mock not having the money to cover the fees (I already said I don't even have enough money to buy it, even if I wanted to), which makes any claim to the idea of paying to demo seem like real penny-pinching. Well, it's not. Maybe in isolation, this looks like no big deal, but things would be different if this were how all software developers decided to operate (though it might put paid to all our g.a.s :tu:)

There are certain things in life that can't be demoed before buying, but software can easily be modified to allow this. My personal opinion is that it is a combination of hubris, laziness, and maybe even hoping that people will likely hold onto something they might not be 100% sold on, where a demo might have stopped them buying.

I don't expect you to agree, and that's ok. However, I should be able to make these criticisms to what seems to be breaking certain 'norms', and not feel like I am penny-pinching, ungrateful, or that I need to justify why I feel it's my divine right to expect a developer to make some effort to court the interest of potential customers.

That's all

Unfortunately, no. Low CPU mode actually makes it go up 1% LOL

 He said you're using his quotes to "score cheap points". I'm very curious to find out what the hell is that supposed to mean.

I will make one comment on the demo

I do think it would be better to have a demo and much easier on the company too BUT

I think reason is simple, they use the Connect Continuata method of distributing their sample libraries (this is their first VST)
It uses a unique password to be able to download. I think inherent in that method of distribution is making a demo problematic.

To be absolutely fair to Output the 14 day refund has applied their sample libraries from day one, a truly remarkable thing in that game is to offer returns !!!!

I do use it BTW and probably going to keep it .

Please guys 2 pages of back and forth is enough.

FFS :D TBH when I have engaged it it doesn't seem to help a lot, definitely contact support with your issues, I agree it should have been better beta tested before release, certainly not unusable at my end but silly things like the automation should be picked up as standard.

As Windows 7 got about half of the desktop market cornered it's weird that a dev will not support it? :?
