Ah, yes. I was going to suggest this, as well, in another thread where you were talking about smaller interfaces. I recently bought a 32" monitor - and I am soooo glad I did. I now enjoy working with Synthmaster, finally. Seems like it would be a good investment for your business. And a tax write-off, to boot.Guenon wrote: Now, don't take this the wrong way, as it's really not in a snarky tone. Have you considered a bigger screen? Ah, but would a small GUI be easier to read on a larger screen? The only way to find out is to buy a bigger monitor. And then if it doesn't make a significant difference, I'm now stuck with a bigger monitor that I didn't need.Bodhisan wrote:Ah, yes. Now, if there is some store I can go to in order to test this out (they'd have to have small GUI VSTs installed on their PC) then yeah, I'd be willing to take the trip to see. But this scenario is unlikely to exist locally as I have almost no stores around me that sell music software anyway. In fact, I have 2 to be exact.

You can also lower the resolution on your existing monitor... gui's will get biggerwagtunes wrote:Ah, but would a small GUI be easier to read on a larger screen? Yes, but it will also get blurry because of interpolation, and also, anything lower than full HD would probably be a bit of a bummer when working with your DAW.
@ wagtunes: Yes, it will be easier to read on a bigger screen. At least with the same resolution. I don't know how big your actual screen is, but trying a 27" display would definitely be an option if you have problems with reading GUI's. Anything above will rather be TV screen stuff, and probably won't be as sharp as computer displays. At least as far as my poor knowledge in that regard can tell.

First thing I've tried. Too many things, including my DAW, no longer fit on screen. That's a bigger pain than the small GUIs. And I've tried several resolutions. The one I have now is the best but doesn't accommodate small GUIs well. It's a trade off I'm willing to live with so I don't have to constantly move my other synths and DAW around just to use.pdxindy wrote:You can also lower the resolution on your existing monitor... gui's will get biggerwagtunes wrote:Ah, but would a small GUI be easier to read on a larger screen? I'll look into. But for now, I don't have a larger screen so small GUI synths are out. If the situation changes, I already have a ton of synths I would buy. So many good sounding ones that I've had to pass on because I couldn't see the controls.chk071 wrote:Yes, but it will also get blurry because of interpolation, and also, anything lower than full HD would probably be a bit of a bummer when working with your DAW.

Agree, such a big list of stuff he owns...Michael L wrote: 2. People complained that you were not actually trying the recommended synths, or even reading the manual, but dismissing them after playing only a few presets.
3. People believed you were just 'phishing' for attention for your own products, trying to make the thread longer by making more and more little objections.
If I bothered to go back and re-read your "Wow Me!" and "Blow Me!" threads, I could add more.
Personally I can't imagine someone with enough time to enjoy all those plug ins and still post as much as Wagtunes posts in this forum.

Use something simple like Savi host... just to host the vst for sound design... not using your daw for other music stuff. But yeah... its a pain. I also just ignore the small gui's... but then I am not trying to make soundsets for all of them.wagtunes wrote:First thing I've tried. Too many things, including my DAW, no longer fit on screen. You'd be surprised how much I get done in a day. I'm up at 6 AM and don't go to bed until 11:30 PM and most of that time I'm working on something to do with my business or music.rod_zero wrote:Agree, such a big list of stuff he owns...Michael L wrote: 2. Take a look at all the tracks I have on my Soundcloud account. Take a look at all the libraries I've already released.
This is my life. This is what I do. I make the time and it's really not very hard at all. It's all about scheduling and pacing.

Take a bunch of screenshots of the plugin GUIs you're interested in, put them on a USB stick, and go to the store selling a large monitor you might fancy. Say you have some pics on the USB stick you'd like to see on the display, in order to know how it compares.wagtunes wrote:Now, if there is some store I can go to in order to test this out (they'd have to have small GUI VSTs installed on their PC) then yeah, I'd be willing to take the trip to see. Just pick a monitor that keeps the native resolution the same and increases the screen area (or at least increases the actual physical screen area more, in proportion to the resolution) and your eyes will have an easier time
