There is a problem if I use a Stereo Expander and some Tape Saturators? everything I use is freeware
Those fx are fine. You can even use payware this month.
When done upload the song to soundcloud.com. Track title should be [kvrname] - [songname].
Post a link to the soundcloud song here in this thread with a description of used fx. Most people also mention the number of synth1 plug-ins used.

Looking forward to hear your creation.

afaik chorus is forbidden (unless the synth has chorus of course)
Yes, absolutely. What I meant was that, in general, in life outside OSC, Chorus can be used gently, having less effect on the sound than some effects that are legal in OSC. Yet chorus remains illegal, because it operates on pitch. Should've been more clear.

Gents:

Is anyone else having a problem with sequencing Synth 1? I'm using Logic Pro X (10.2.2), and as others have mentioned, only the 4-pole LPF is working, but aside from that, I'm noticing that my sequencer is very inconsistent. It sounds like when my CPU gets maxed out, and the timing is milliseconds off on some notes. Its most apparent on a 16th note arp I created, but absolutely maddening. I don't want to spend dozens of hours finishing this track, only to have it be impossible to record without timing errors.

Anyone else experiencing anything like this? I have used another synth to verify it was Synth 1 that was the problem, and indeed, using another synth for the offending sequence resolves the problem.
Logic Pro X : Prophet Rev2, Blofeld, Toraiz-AS1, Model D, Minibrute, MOTU 828x, Presonus Eris E7's, dozens of pedals

yeah there's a few problems... making it all the more of a CHALLENGE!!!! [raises fist into the air]
only the 24dB LP works... i have the occasional glitchy thing too, which is funny cos after 8 instances or so, my 'CPU' meter is reading 0% :P HA... i wish this happened with DIVA :(

i haven't tried to render anything yet, who knows!!? :P

is there a list anywhere of the actual types of effects we CAN use...?? reverb obviously? people seem to be using it...
do i get any bonus points if i only use Synth1 and nothing else?

Post

look guys, this might as well be advertised as a Windows only competition.
The OSX version has ONE filter and MAJOR patch recall bugs.
It's just not going to work fairly for OSX users.

Yeah, after running a few more tests, the timing when sequenced is all over the place.

Look at these transients. Its not even a little bit off, or consistent. The drums are worse, but this bounced audio file (see attached), is a 16th note arp.

You can see the faint grid lines. With hardware, especially sequencing via DAW MIDI, there can be jitter and being off 5 ticks or so, isn't abnormal, but also so small you can't even hear it. With virtual instruments it should be ON THE GRID. :bang:

Sorry guys, great sounding synth, but I'm gonna bow out before I work up an entire track and then can't bounce the whole thing without gross timing errors. I was hoping it was just a live sequencing issue, but even bouncing offline, or bounce in place, it sounds the same.

Good luck, and hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday.
