I got emailed about it several days ago but couldn't find any link to download it, I had access to all the plugin collectives last year.

Well, I did not get that far. I installed the software center on a virtual machine (it needed two separate prerequisite installations before I could do that). It then downloaded a bunch of crap from the Flux site. Then I tried to make and offline installer but realized that I will also need to install software center on the actual machine too. It also needs PACE crap too. Gave up, not worth the trouble.planetearth wrote:You think the installer's bad? Try using the plug-in. According to the demo video, you have to load a "sample grabber" (for some unexplained reason), and then the analyzer--as two separate pieces. And the actual analyzer didn't even show up as a plug-in when I installed it. Going back to Flux's site to see what kind of voodoo they expect to see to get the plug-in to install and work properly.robotmonkey wrote:Flux installation is also the most annoying and convoluted I have ever seen. Why the hell it needs Crapple Bonjour? They even don't have that many plugins so a separate software center seems like overkill.Robert Randolph wrote:I specifically unchecked the "I want to receive Flux:: newsletter on my iLok email address", and I just got a confirmation that I subscribed to their newsletter.

I'm pretty content with this so far + the Red collection being in CM mag. Though they need to just leave out Bias, it makes them look bad. just my opinion..no one get offended. - I do think a few things on it sound good..wait no, I use outboard guitar effect pedals..Vertion wrote:Focusrite Plugin for February : Fabfilter Pro-Q2? Oh my! I missed these. Was on the road for the first part of December. Logged in to my Focusrite account and assumed that these were now credited to my account, but see that I was wrong. Didn't realize I needed to go through steps to get these licenses on my iLok. Kicking myself for this. I've been intrigued by Surfer EQ since it first came out, and was excited to get it in this bundle.
I snoozed and lost.

I still haven't gotten the damn plug-in working. Every time I try to run it (after launching the "sample grabber"), it says it can't find my "dongle" and shuts down.robotmonkey wrote:Well, I did not get that far. I'm not supposed to need one, since this was purchased through Flux, basically.

It doesn't require a dongle, but it does require the Ilok drivers and software.
You can use that to activate it on your machine if you don't have an Ilok 2.
Flux does have an optional proprietary dongle iirc, I think it defaults to Ilok though.

I have an iLok2. And the Flux plug-in shows up in my iLok account as registered and activated. But I still get the same error--and their "knowledgebase" doesn't even suggest any work-arounds. It only has one hit if you search for the error, and that points to the bare-bones, basic installation instructions.pekbro wrote:It doesn't require a dongle, but it does require the Ilok drivers and software.

Flux support suggested I follow Focusrite's installation instructions again (even though I told them in my initial e-mail that I'd already tried that again, and it says the product is registered to me).
I really don't have a warm, fuzzy feeling about this.

Does anybody have an idea why this does not work for me? Do I need a hardware product registered?
I had access last year with just an account, now I bought the CM Red and registered it, but it still doesn't show any links when I log in.
I'd really like to get the analyser ...

I've not tried the Flux thing yet - but the best so far was the Eventide Stereo Room - especially as it then counted towards Anthology X

That has got to be the most gorgeous eye candy analyser going (I have Insight which is powerful butt ugly) but why make it a standalone and not just a full plugin?
Anyway how do you join this or do you need to have some Focusright gear?

How the heck does this thing work?
It's a standalone application, right? OK.. I have a bunch of songs in wav format that I want to analyse.... how can I load them in?
EDIT: It doesn't work that way - duh! You have to feed the signal from your DAW to the "standalone" app (not truly "Stand Alone" though is it...) via the SampleGrabber plugin. Works a treat!
