I guess that it's not particularly germane to whateverthehell this thread has become, but FLStudio is on BETA 5 now.
I adore the piano roll, use it linked to Reaper, and I look forward to FLS20 a lot, especially because it's moving in the direction of letting you use it as a more traditional DAW.

so, 'Porntris'..
if anyone here thinks that this 'dos' game is pornographic has need for help outside the remit of these forums. If porn= a picture of a lady showing off her front-bumps you are clearly not resident in the UK where such images have adorned the pages of the red-tops for some decades now.
i mean, i was expecting the descending puzzle parts to be phallic or yonic and that you would have to ( tee hee) make the man-bits and lady parts 'interact' for a joyful solution to the 'puzzle'.
even by the standards of threads intended to drag FL across the coals, it being a toy and so and so on... that's pretty piss poor.
FL: loads of people use it.
some people like, some, not so much. Some love it so much that they make youtube channels to share their joy and knowledge with others.
i use it. it is very productive and encourages play and creativity, in my experience.
so what is behind this incessant gibbering from these complainers?
if they were happy to be making music, then they wouldn't be in forums spreading taint against FL ( and others no doubt).
perhaps they would be celebrating what they DO use. Celebrating what they create?..
my suspicion is they DON'T make music. why?
because they never EVER TALK about MUSIC. Just to whine about the tools ( they do not use?).
these poor souls are trolls for want of being anything else.
i'm off to play some Porntris..

Sure , I've been doing music for a long time , about 20 years ..inkwarp wrote:s

Started out with sonic foundry acid2 , rebirth ..roland xp 80 and even fruity loops 2 .
NOw happy with renoise /reaper / nord modular , integra , yammie sampler etc ...
Why is that you fruityloops fanboys can't take any criticism ?
I've never said it's a bad program , it's perfectly capable to make production ready music with ....just saying it's lacking in certain areas ...same with renoise /reaper etc...
Get over it .

Get over it .
lol.
i am so over it.
btw i don't count myself as a 'fan boy'. I use lots of stuff... if it works for me it's good.
i just find these knee jerk posts that don't actually contain any reasonable criticism. just pointless.
mud-slinging and ad hominem remarks...
trying to smear the developer as cheap because they made a program in the 90's that they deem pornographic is lame and irrelevant.
if you have been making music so long and seem so sorted with your current set-up, why are you on a forum trying to trash FL Studio?

FYI the main developer GOL has left the building..he is the only reason what fl studio is today .inkwarp wrote:Get over it .

Imagine line was a company that made anything for a living ..from adultgames to tv quiz games ...untill they met gol.
If you scroll back a few post , I have the impression that it's actually IL that is condenscending to gol /

I find that a bit hard to believe, with all the new features they introduce in every new version, including major stuff like time signatures. I don't doubt that the guy had a major impact on the development of the DAW, but...gentleclockdivider wrote: FYI the main developer GOL has left the building..he is the only reason what fl studio is today .

Yeah, they have to close the company now. Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

I'm not sure why there are so many fl studio haters out there, actually the workflow is pretty cool if compared to other daws, the bundled vsts are awesome and having their own significant sound.
Many features already included and they are unique, like the handy piano roll, the multi touch gui support, the ultimate mixer, the Playlist and advanced performance mode.
Perhaps most of those features were developed by other guys (not Gol). So let's just say his absence is not going to limit the progress.
Alright there is a big lack of midi implementations, but image line team promised to provide many solutions.
And once again, it is a lifetime free update. Unlike other daws.

I must confess it baffles me why the midi implementation in FL is a little convoluted compared to other daws. But the piano roll is undoubtedly the best for speed and smoothness : ) imo.
that's what is important i think...
GOLS contributions to FL are still being developed now he is gone to where he upped and went. Harmor is a great synth, competes with any other top of the line synth.
and they are hardly just let it die because GOL doesn't work there anymore. It is still there and will remain so all this chatter saying the FL world is poorer due to his absence, they are just reaching.
any excuse to have a go at a program which is really maturing well. the new version has a lot of good changes and additions. I don't see any reason to doubt it will continue to develop.

Well let's start with the sample engine ...it still has the old filters that were implemented 20 years ago .
SUre , they updated it with a nice gui ..but the code is exactly the same ...
These filters def. need an update ...
A reply from the mod was , that he couldn't hear any difference between the legacy filters and upto date zdf filters .
That's what I mean with the I.L. policy

Somehow that's right, audio engine however had been improved in v11, and in no time I many users stated that their mixes sound better.
For me I was just using ableton live, it has one of best audio engines, sometimes I bounce the audio tracks from fls to live, and there I notice the difference. Fls had the same old vintage, lofi filters indeed, sometimes they just sound nice!
Anyhow, IL stated to improve that in near future.
Besides that, I guess no producer uses a single do-it-all daw. Fls is very well known of its ability to sketch ideas into patterns.
