Sorry, but it's a fact. A service doing nothing may not be measurable, but all those nothings do add up to something.
DPC latency better with AMD graphic cards (3 card comparison)

For sure they add up to something that's why it's a nonsense to turn off services in expectation to get a smoother and faster system unless you really know what you're doing. If a service is described with a single sentence in Windows it really isn't a explanation about what the service is doing specially if there are dependencies on other services and so on. Things are getting complicated. What you can do for testing is to manually end a services until restart. Having a success and turning the service permanently off after restart does not tell the whole story ( yeah, write down what you did, lol ). Some services running on a schedule and are not active permanently but sometimes needed.BertKoor wrote: Fri Sep 20, 2024 4:44 pmSorry, but it's a fact. There are many Cores in today's CPU's, there are Cores that are responsible for keeping the system intact and are working silently in the background.
Back to the topic. In which way is DPC latency disturbing?
I guess most people don't care anyway. It should have a rather minor negativ impact to a PC in 2024.
How much more VST's can you load if the DPC latency is lower?
By the way. I love working with my officially not supported I7-7700. Windows 11 utilize this processor way way better than Windows 10 some years ago.

Now I am keeping the "Processor idle demote/promote threshold" to 95% and not 100%.

Too many different CPU models, BIOS and drivers. At 95% everything should work perfectly, no
interference in Power Management/Turbo Boost and still provide more than enough performance.

In the latest AMD Radeon Software Adrenalin 26.5.2 driver, AMD Crash Defender will not automatically reinstall after manual uninstallation. No extra tricks are needed to prevent it from returning, but if you install a new driver, you will need to repeat the process.

I also like to deselect some AMD stuff, go to TAB Scheduled Tasks and deselect the AMD stuff you find there.
