ScottyM, for someone who doesn't use it anymore, you seriously spend a lot of time in Reason threads. Are you sure you aren't missing it?
I spent 13 years using Reason, lots of money invested in it, I now spend 95% less time using it, that leaves 5% where I spend my time talking about it, it's a fair compromise whilst I carry on using my other daw to produce with..

Overall, I don't see Props moving forward until Reason itself is rebuilt from the ground up as a new product in a new scalable and future proof interface format... Until that happens, the development will forever be at a snails pace...having to keep going backwards.

Automatically returning? I'd be happy if the playback just stopped when the playhead reached the End marker.
This has to be one of the most mind numbingly dumb things ever in Reason along with quite a few others. I could never use it as a primary DAW but do have a fondness for it. What it excels in in creativity it then takes it away in really fundamental flaws. However the new drum thingy is very cool and well thought out so a plus on that.
Mac Studio M4

Cubase 15, Ableton Live 12

People frustrated with Reason should really just move on at this point - I don't see the devs developing the sequencer or interface much. I use Ableton and it is so much smoother in workflow aspects and flexibility, but I still reach for Reason for certain things that it does well. Anything I need otherwise is covered by other software. I can understand wanting more from it, I just don't see it happening.

You'll get no complaints from me about those suggestions - Reason's non-scalable interface is a huge sticking point for me. I've been eyeing several 4K monitors but can't bite the bullet knowing that I'll have to have my OS scale it, which ends up turning out as a fuzzy work-around.

That said, you do realize it is unlikely it will ever drop the skeuomorphic rack and device approach, right? Even if the interface is scaled up to 8K, I doubt it would ever change the pace of updates.

What do you mean by online only? I have it installed and authorized. I don't need to login
when I start Reason if that's what you mean.
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

If they fixed the scaling issue, they would be walking in a straight line rather than doing... 'cat chasing tails'

and from point A to point B faster.... like 'yanyan cat' :D

Ok you're right... I had some trouble downloading the Factory Sound Bank, I guess
it didn't sync as I had thought.

Anyway, "It's Not Online Only" thanks :tu:

The new devices are ok (GUI size). The problem is mostly the old ones. So, I'm using mostly the great new synths and my VST gems.

The negative comments are repeated, so i'm putting some positive feedback to balance the things :hihi:

So, for me, I'm really happy with the new update and actually I'm mostly ready for any paid update as only this wonderful drum sequencer is about half price of an upgrade!

Go Propellerhead go! :tu:

Yes, the download wasn't very fast when I downloaded the update. It actually stopped for minutes! But it's understandable as many are downloading the same time I guess.

You might be happy to know that there will be no paid updates for 2018, as officially stated by their Product Manager:
I would also like to take this opportunity to inform you that based on your feedback, we have decided there will not be any paid upgrades to Reason this year. So there’s absolutely no need to worry about missing out on new features later this year if you’re thinking about upgrading to Reason 10 now.

That implies to me that there really isn't going to be any more updates to Reason this year...

“So, what about performance?” I hear you ask. We are aware of some performance issues with VSTs, and trust me, we’re working hard to adress them. Good news is it’s going really well! But it’s a complex project that requires lots of time for testing. I can’t give you a date at the moment, but this performance optimization will be available as a free update for all Reason 10 owners later this year. Meanwhile, I hope you’ll enjoy everything that Reason 10.1 has to offer!

I meant feature upgrades as in what they did last year, I covered what 'updates' would probably mean earlier in the thread. In any case, this is just standard maintenance they are referring to.
