$89 to upgrade an eq plugin? That’s pretty damn steep.

Yeah it is, but EQ is essential.

This. If you need a dynamic EQ you can buy TDR Nova GE and ToneBoosters EQ4 together for 90 €.
TB had L/R/M/S options per band years ago.
New users PM me for a 10% FabFilter or 20% MeldaProduction/United Plugins discount

True, but if you got some plugins from FabFilter before (hopefully on sale), they offer fantastic discounts for previous customers that are clearly seen in this thread. This is actually one of the very few companies that I think actually have good prices that match the quality of the product. Paying full price for this without any discounts could be challenging though. I do think (at least with Pro-Q2) that it is the best EQ I have used. Obviously, there are others that can be fantastic at adding flavor (Museq, etc.) if that is what one wants.

I own the mixing bundle, which includes pro q and several other of their plugins and my upgrade price was 73$, pretty lame upgrade structure if you ask me.......... but I did it anyways :?
I'm Kinda a big Deal

I have 3 FabFilter products but the discount is 50% for me. I hope that there will be a sale one day as I am living in a country with average monthly wages of 300 €.

GlissEQ from Voxengo from a few years ago can do it, albeit requires more effort to setup what you want to see together. The quality of FabFilter plugins UX is superb: everything is at your fingertips and nicely laid out.

No brainer for me this, proQ then proqQ are on most of my tracks, the thing is so intuitive to use. I already have Pro-MB but still the dynamic EQ built in will be useful although it remains to be seen how restrictive it will be without attack and release controls

No brainer. I will pass.

Too much - oh well I probably don't need it

how unfortunate fabfilter has some self respect and doesn't sell itself out... we should force all companies by law to offer their plugins and work time & capacities for free.

but until then i will keep buying their products because they're superb, make me happy and i'm glad to support a company like fabfilter

€ 58 EUR for the upgrade from version 2 was a steal for me.

What I noticed about the automatic naming of the tracks in analyzer panel (Studio One 4 x64 on Win7 x64): the VST3 version gets the names of the tracks exactly as they're named in the DAW, but the VST2 version doesn't (just names them Pro-Q 3 X...).

I also ran into an issue (tried on 2 different machines). The VST3 version doesn't display any of the other tracks' spectrum on the big spectrum display. The VST2 works properly. In S1 3 got the same behavior. To my surprise, the VST3 works properly in S1 2. Anybody can confirm this?

Strawman much? I never said it should be free. $89 is simply more than I’m willing to pay for it. If you love throwing your cash around, good for you.

The times have changed.. people demand cheaper products. Just a few years ago sub 100$ would have been considered an ok upgrade price for a premium plugin (which is what Pro-Q always has marketed itself as).

Still I suspect they'll have no problems selling this. It is after all one of the most used plugins in the audio industry.
