Hi, have the very last Sonar Platinum version (23.10.0) and the very last Alchemy version for Windows (1.55) installed. But actually, as far as I remember, it also worked with any version before. There is really no need for any kind of video tutorial: just right-click the element that you want to control and select to MIDI-learn it, move your controller knob/fader and that's it. You are now able to MIDI-control the learned Alchemy parameter(s) and, of course, to record that all in Sonar.

Mind you: I am using the VST2 version of Alchemy. I do not even remeber if there is a VST3 version, but if so: it can be the cause of your troubles. VST3 is very MIDI-learn unfriendly

that is why I avoid it.

Hi ,AKJ , nice ambient´s with automation:-)
I can record Automation , but what I need is to Assign (Learn) several parameters in Alchemy to the XY pads to record CC data, do you think it is possible?I have Alchemy 1.25 version.
In the Sonar Synth Rack in properties or right click on Alchemy, we have a popup option to "Enable MIDI OUTPUT" I have done all that, but I cant output the XY pads or remix Pad (movements)data to a track , I want to record CC data with the mouse, can you do that In Alchemy 1.55?

I actually started a thread on this but now I have located this great thread - question is are all the same presets from the original Alchemy the same on the new Logic one?

No, as Alchemy 2 (Logic) has many more features and parameters, selected presets were adapted.

No, as Alchemy 2 (Logic) has many more features and parameters, selected presets were adapted.

There are a lot of new presets created with v2 that use the new features, but a lot of v1 content is still included in the Apple version. Not everything, but the majority. Some v1 presets were tweaked and / or given new names, so might not be easy to identify.

This is my worry as I have a few old songs I'm ready to record with the old Alchemy presets which I really like, will probably get everything I need recorded initially before upgrading in that case.

Thats' just what it ships with from Apple, but you can also load all legacy libraries, including the Legacy factory library.

I bumping this topic as I can't seem to find a solution anywhere.
I noticed that a number of older presets were migrated to the Logic version of Alchemy. A friend of mine has been using Dream Voices a lot, and a couple of presets were moved into the new Alchemy. However he would like to use all of them and he doesn't mind if there will be duplicates as long as he is able to use all patches/presets.
To help him I tried myself to import Dream Voices into Alchemy. I put all the samples in the correct folder in Library etc. But there are no .acp files, and the presets (apart from the ones that are migrated by Apple) don't show up in the browser.
Does anyone know a solution?

Logic alchemy loads all camel alchemy presets as "legacy"
