So I upgraded. Spent a few minutes with it. First impressions:
1. Much, much better factory presets than Byome (which skewed way too heavily towards glitch). Lots of usable, good stuff in the TRIAD factory library.
2. Not entirely surprising when you think about it, but this can be very CPU intensive.
3. Looks great. Great use of colors between the different bands. Love that the band frequencies themselves can be modulated.
4. Definitely going to take some learning to get the most of it. Particularly just wrapping my head around some of the different modulator types, what they do, how they work, when to use them. Where's Dan Worrall when you need him?
5. Worth the upgrade price IMO. Or at least, the $49 I paid as a BYOME owner.
6. There's no latency reporting option in this like in BYOME 1.01. Does it automatically report latency?
7. Looking forward to the wide-screen mode.

Got any virus protection running? Bitdefender was pretty good for flagging things like the Roland Cloud Manager installations as malware and would instantly delete the installed files.lnikj wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2019 4:52 pm I still can't install this on Windows 10 for some reason. New computer (2 weeks old). Either with the standalone installer or the installation manager, when I install it I see it pop up momentarily in the PA folder then instantly disappear again (but not to the recycled bin. A terminal window opens and disappears in a flash twice. Strangest thing.

Michael from UA just posted in this thread a few times and had been actively posting public betas in the Byome thread. Not sure how you can fault them for their activity levels on KVR. They seem pretty darn active here to me.Caine123 wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2019 4:54 pm I remember how UA was more active here xan it be? As i said when devs/companies reach a level they dont care anymore. Yeah, because UA is such a giant company now and not a niche player in a niche market with a dev who still takes time out of their day to post here fairly frequently.Caine123 wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2019 4:54 pm I remember how UA was more active here xan it be? Yep! We had to add it in as a toggled option for BYOME so that existing projects would sound the same. In Triad, latency reporting is always enabled. Each band is latency compensated as well so that they'll sum back correctly.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2019 4:54 pm 6. There's no latency reporting option in this like in Byome 1.01. That, and I became a dad in April! We've been very active on the dedicated UA threads (since I subscribe to them and receive emails), but I haven't been as visible on the rest of KVR or other forums.vurt wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2019 4:57 pmthe lizard has made several posts on the previous page.Caine123 wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2019 4:54 pm I remember how UA was more active here xan it be? When you deal with such $$$ companies like PA this is more than obvious. See the people here still defend those moves. And i will get triad too for a nicer price which will come soon.vurt wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2019 5:03 pmawesome congrats to the familythelizard wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2019 5:02 pmThat, and I became a dad in April! Get over yourself. Just because an upgrade price is more than you want to pay doesn't mean they're not interested in their customers. This is how much they value their work, and this being PA I'm sure if it doesn't sell enough they'll do a sale sometime or remove the "no vouchers" requirement or something.Caine123 wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2019 5:15 pmWhen you deal with such $$$ companies like PA this is more than obvious. it is the first time i saw dynamically change the latency in cubase.. so it works.. with triad..thelizard wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2019 5:00 pmYep! opened byome, after a day with triad, and yes quite different (in approach). will keep it.
after a long time only staring at those plugins, i finally have the plugins i want from UA; specops, byome and triad, and the last one was the kind of effect i was looking for, can mimic it in reaktor, but still, sometimes, not everything in reaktor... and of course bought euroreakt, and with the crossover module of toybox audio, i already use it for multiple bands...
it seems that every kind of plugin is in crowded place. but luckily i have my preferences, and budget...
and modular approach is the way..

I did have a Kaspersky trial running, but it was irritating me, so I uninstalled it just now. I have disabled Windows Defender.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Sat Jun 08, 2019 4:56 pmGot any virus protection running? Same thing. Appears and then gets deleted
