Your first sequencer.

My first sequencer was Yamaha PSS-680. It had 5 tracks, no quantising, just record and repeat/loop. Good thing for improving your timing skills, but not good for making whole songs really. Then I bought Atari 1040STE and Steinberg Pro24. That sequencer was absolutely fantastic, but I bought Cubase after a couple of years and made my first album with it. It was so stable and the timing was great.

OT: I wish there was an Atari-like computer only for audio nowadays, driven by RT Linux with a kernel compiled for audio and MIDI only. It is rather hard to make a PC with great MIDI timing like Atari had, to drive external hardware MIDI modules, which I still prefer to doing everything ITB.
