As far as I'm concerned, Everyone has to pay Paypal fees if you want buyer protection. I'm missing something?Rivanni wrote: Thu Jun 11, 2020 8:54 pm My ad got deleted because I wrote that the buyer needs to pay the PayPal fees. According to knobcloud I should include this fee in the selling price. Which is a stupid thing to do because not everyone has to pay Paypal fees. For instance when the currency is the same.
Instead of alerting me, my ad was simply deleted. Because I mailed knobcloud about the missing ad, I got a response with the reason why.

I did send you an email about the deletion, and I did that inmediatly after deleting the offer, maybe our emails crossed. I wish we could just have paused the offer, but this was not tecnically possible for me. We want buyers to feel safe and we ask sellers to include the paypal fees in the offer. The PayPal fee for buyer protection has to be paid even when the currency is the same. PayPal fees within the same country vary from country to country, but they are roughly 2,5 %. International PayPal fees also vary but are roughly 3-5 %. Conversion fees are paid by the buyer.

Thank you! You can submit the rating under Messages. We´ll see if we can improve the visibility.HcDoom wrote: Thu Jun 11, 2020 3:25 pm Sold item via Knobcloud, everything also went smooth. Excellent site, really love it.
What would also be good addition is to rate the transaction with a pop up question once the license transfer has been done, now its somewhere up on the site and people mostly dont even notice it.

Great idea!
I think that this site could save me some time.
UPDATE: After reading what happend to others i must correct myself: It seems it's not a time-saver rather an under-developement and not 100%-working approach. Forget it!

so, what could the nobs at knobcloud do to improve the situation going forward?

Just hit the off knob. I seriously doubt the site is run by humanitarians - maintaining it and providing the countless security features (
) doesn't come for free.
I suspect it's all about gathering and selling personal data.
Either that or they've struck a deal with PayPal and get a piece of the cake for every transaction.

Couldn't agree more. We don't need a third party to provide us with drama!codec_spurt wrote: Sat Jun 13, 2020 10:13 pm I won't be using this website again. Strictly KVR from now on.

Putting aside your insanely disproportionate reaction to a series of events that very likely started with a genuine mistake (and ended with you having lost nothing but your shit), this does seem to expose a failing of one of the main selling points of the site i.e easy access to information regarding developers’ sales requirements.
I’ve not used the site yet, so don’t know how it currently works. But perhaps this potential problem could be solved by using a standardised sales form, with the various developer names selectable in the appropriate field. Then the seller just chooses the correct developer, upon which the ‘current’ terms-of-engagement are automatically pasted into the advert.

Every experienced user here knows the strange, expensive and customer unfriendly transfer policy of 2CAudio. It's your own fault, guy, to stumble into that mess.

Or maybe it's just a programmer who did this for fun in his spare time. The site isn't particularly complex, so a skilled dev can whip it up in a couple of weeks during his spare time. I'm a dev myself and I do this all the time, eg to try out some new ui framework. The website can easily run on a sub 5€ v-server. Maybe it's running on a server that's already been used for other stuff, so there may not even be any extra hosting cost at all. That leaves the cost for the domain which is a couple of bucks a year. Overall, my guess is, the monetary cost is probably negligible, it's mostly spare time that's involved. Who knows, maybe it raises a couple of bucks with ads in the long run. And if it doesn't catch on? Just bin it and maybe take away some new problem solving approaches you learned in the course.Proteinshake wrote: Sun Jun 14, 2020 7:08 am Just hit the off knob. I have no prove that that's the background story of the site, but I think it's totally possible.
[edit]
I just saw it's an actual company behind it. I suppose the dev feels more committed about it and spent the 20€ it costs to open a business in Germany. I only hope he knows that you are required to generate revenue as a company. Otherwise your business is marked as "Liebhaberei" and you are shut down.

Hi codec spurt,codec_spurt wrote: Sat Jun 13, 2020 9:47 pm You had one f**king job!
Oh man. What a nightmare.
You made such a BIG point about transfer fees being DECLARED in your sales blurb, and I fell for it.
I bought Breeze for 30 quid, then just checked my mail a few minutes ago expecting everything to have gone through.
Soz, oh forgot to say yeah LOL u needs to pay the transfer feez. Let me know when you splashed the cash and hit a bro' up.
sorry about that. We don´t yet have all the transfer information of all developers, they are only worked into the offer as long as they are in our database. But we will keep collecting developers and will add 2c audio.
You can claim your money back now, this is why we have made PayPal mandatory. Things like "becomes NFR" and buyer transfer fees need to be in the offer; if there is any problem going forward with PayPal I offer to cover your additional expenses, if you feel like it was caused by the way I advertised the site.
Please bear in mind that this could happen on a forum as well. We are merely providing a service for free, but are not in a position to guarantee that there will never be any trouble with a particular offer.
