Thanks for the heads up.numerouno wrote: Fri Jul 09, 2021 3:32 pmThe spikes are there because the DSP is running in a high priority backgroud thread. If the DSP is fast enough, the DAW will report a very low CPU consumption, even though this is not really true. If the DSP is too slow, it will report 100% instantly.chk071 wrote: Fri Jul 09, 2021 3:26 pmYou get no CPU spikes, nothing?kmonkey wrote: Fri Jul 09, 2021 12:53 pm Emulator is using 8-9% on my i7 5820k which isn't exactly latest hitech CPU processor.
I wouldn't call CPU usage mad at all.
I have a feeling that what I experience is not normal. Because, sometimes the CPU usage definitely is low, and then it jumps up like mad.
And, yes, I do have the high performance power plan activated.
Improvements will come with time, but at the moment our main focus is the GUI![]()
It's an Intel Xeon E3-1230 v3, with 4 physical cores, and 4 virtual ones. It's pretty ancient, 2013, and it was a rather mid tier CPU back then. Meant for servers, but, it works great for anything else as well. Never had an issue with games, for example.recursive one wrote: Fri Jul 09, 2021 3:32 pmSame here.chk071 wrote: Fri Jul 09, 2021 3:26 pm I have a feeling that what I experience is not normal. I guess it somehow identifies the people who wanted "virus in the box" the most and pokes fun at them![]()
What's your CPU? i5? i7? Hyperthreading?
I'll probably have a new PC next year, but, I also hope that this can be optimized. And, especially, that it will run multi DSP ROM's one day. The thought of having the Virus, Supernova, and Waldorf Q, running nicely on the PC, OMG.
