I have a few RE downloaded and I have left quite a few dogs (mostly free) behind on their site so they don't clutter up the browser. I just authorize the few that I need on my computer. I've never used the SYNC ALL option yet.
Will SYNC ALL download all these REs that I don't want?

I don’t know. I’d expect it to only update the ones you’ve already installed, but if you want to be sure, just click the Download button for each of the ones you actually want, and that will update them individually.

For those of you who are actually programming a Combinator 2 in Reason 12, this was just posted at Reasontalk:

In one of the threads over there, someone posted a screenshot of a list of new combinator features — one of which was the ability to put combinators inside combinators. That doesn’t actually work though (doesn’t let you drag one into another one, and combining devices inside a combinator moves them to a new top-level combinator). Did that get cut, or is it just not implemented yet, or what?

I can’t see how it would work from a UI standpoint, since each nested combinator would leave less horizontal space for devices, unless the frame is collapsed when nested (in which case the grouping is unclear).

I mean, you're not wrong - but the way I look at it is like this: in the past 4 months, for almost 3 of those months most of Sweden (including most of Propellerhead/Reason Studios) has been on summer vacation, yet they were still able to crank out not only a new sampler, but a brand new customizable Combinator (that was designed to have features added), and GPU accelerated graphics/hi-res graphics - the latter of which absolutely had to be a massive re-write to some degree.

So if they can't add some meat-and-potatoes updates to the core DAW app over the next 4 months, and finish off the missing hi-res assets at least, I would literally be shocked. They've got their entire staff working now, at least until the middle/end of December when the inevitable winter/holiday vacations start. But I've always been a glass-half-full sort of bloke.

For anyone who wants to design their own Combi 2 skins, but are lacking skeuomorphic design skills, Ryan at Reason Studios just released an asset pack with a ton of PNG's that you can use (screws, bolts, backgrounds, etc):

Every device including all 3rd party Res have been updated to HD, you have to go in Reason Companion, select all and press update to HD

I'm fairly new to using Reason. I take it you can't sell rack extensions so I shouldn't go looking to buy second hand, right? Do they have sales fairly often on the Propellerheads synths?

Correct. RE licenses cannot be sold or exchanged - once you buy them, you have them for life.

They used to - yes - but since Reason+ came out and now all Reason Studios instruments and effects are included, it's unknown whether or not they'll put their own stuff on sale anymore. Time will tell.

You should have an option to update them to hi-res (which should launch Authorizer). You might also try deleting all of your RE's on your computer and doing a Sync All to start fresh and have all of the latest. On Windows, they're here:

C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Roaming\Propellerhead Software\RackExtensions

On Mac, they're located here:

~/Library/Application Support/Propellerhead Software/RackExtensions

...There is an update currently in the works and being tested that addresses some Remote related things, such as adding back Remote functionality to mixer insert controls (to point those mappings to Rotary 1-4 and Button 1-4 of the first Combi)...

That sounds great, although - as I suggested to them via YT, LinkedIn and beta forums - it would be better if they simply allowed to map to those remotes ANY 4 knobs/sliders and 4 buttons from that tracks not necessarily from Combinator. But it's a start and I'm supper happy to see them reverting back on a hasty decision they made to meet the deadline.

FYI- AudioDeluxe has Reason 12 1 year subscription with a summer sale comes out at 178 USD (£130 rather than £200 if you are in the UK buy it from Reason! I am assuming its just a code so will work in any region but I haven't checked)

You do get $8.94 DeluxeBucks at AudioDeluxe as well, so you could say $170,05 is the actual price at AD. Also, JRR only allow PayPal, who has a crappy currency conversion rate compared to the one you get if you pay with a credit or debit card, which AudioDeluxe is supporting.

Yeh, also there have been several 30% off sales (including subscription) so that could well happen in November (probably aligning with a tasty update release )

M1 is mentioned as compatible platform. But is this native or does it run with Rosetta 2 only ? Especially the rack is of interest to me.

I assume it still needs Rosetta. I have an Intro version. Too expensive to upgrade to full, just for hires, I am afraid.
