IT'S MORE - IT HURTS

The banal aesthetics of desctruction left behind by always more and more of everything - it hurts.

Submission done with Vital. Hope I didn't misjudge the rules ... if the plugin comes with distortion we can use it. That was the deal, right? The concept of the track would not work without overdone distortion. Please mind your ears ...

Yep, built-in effects are fine!
ANY Built-in effects native to the plug-in itself may be used. (So built in chorus / modulation / heavy overdrive / etc is allowed)

Hello!

Here is my submission for this month. I used Chipsynth OPS7, and ended up with a relaxed and retro track.
https://soundcloud.com/user-751082729/t ... al_sharing

I used FL Studio 20.9

12xChipsynth OPS7
1xFuse Audio VPRE-2C
3x Airwindows Pressure5
1xSTFU
7xFruity Parametric EQ 2
6x Exponential Audio R4
10xFruity Balance
2xAudiothing Springs

I made a few patches, but I mostly used sysex and a couple of OPS7 factory sounds. The extended parameters were very useful for sound design, allowing things like sweeping the pitch of the modulators and not the carriers for some interesing FM effects, plus the extra waveforms.

I had a song I never submitted last year because my computer malfunctioned and I couldn't get it working before the end of the month. Because of the leniency of this month's challenge, it would actually fit the requirements. I wonder if it would be okay to submit that?

As long as it is original, its probably fine. Especially if you composed it originally for OSC. But really, if you hadn't asked this question, who would have known? Which sorta makes it inherently ok.

My OSC 155 entry made in Reaper

I used Dmitry Sches Thorn. i have 29 instances of it but some may be muted / bypassed as I chopped and changed sections.

I don't think I'll have time to make anymore changes before the end of the month so submitting now.

Other plugins i used in Alphabetical order:
ADPTR MetricAB
Air2 from Airwindows
BussColors4 from Airwindows
ChromeOxide from Airwindows
Console7Buss from Airwindows
Console7Cascade from Airwindows
Event Horizon Limiter / Clipper
Focus from Airwindows
Ozone 9 Elements
Pancake2
ReaComp
ReEQ
Saike 4-pole BandSplitter
Smooth Limiter (by Geraint Luff)
ToTape6 from Airwindows
Unfiltered Audio G8
Valhalla Supermassive

https://soundcloud.com/madmcman/coral-run

Helps if i make the track public :)

At first, I read this and thought you were using emvoice as your entire synth! :hihi:

Only if it was used very lightly i think.

Turnado is a multi-effect, which means some of the included effects are allowed but some of the included effects aren't allowed (see rules about which/what). for example phaser isn't allowed.
Effects - what is allowed:

Most Native DAW effects may be used (see below for what NOT to use)

Most 3rd party plugin effects are allowed (Again, see below for what NOT to use):
3rd party effects must be easily available freeware: this does not include plug-in betas, demos, magware or freeware that has expired, unless a special exception is made that month.

Check out a list of valid free plugins here

Distortion: Please use distortion / tape saturation / bit crushing sparingly. Use your best judgement. Try to keep the original sound recognizable. Note that this does not apply if the distortion is built in to the synth.

ANY Built-in effects native to the plug-in itself may be used. (So built in chorus / modulation / heavy overdrive / etc is allowed)

Midi plugins are allowed, or sending midi from one Daw to another.
Output from any commercial midi plugins or another DAW should be rendered to midi in the timeline

Effects - what is NOT allowed:

Chorus, flanger, phaser, rotary, or related modular effects.

Any type of modulation effect (e.g. chorus, phaser, flanger, rotary etc.). (Please note that effects like reverb or delays that perform modulation to achieve their sound are ALLOWED, but the modulation usage must be minimal.)

Tapestops, Granular delays, pitching, or related sampling effects.

Effects that pitch the sound (e.g. pitched / granular delays, tapestops etc.

Turning up the effect too much where it transforms the nature of the synth (Heavy overdrive / distortion, etc)

Any effect that transforms the sound to make them unrecognizable as being from the synth (Overdrive, heavy distortion, bit crushing, or related). Never go full 11

Ah i see. Thanx. I'm not gonna use it. Just to avoid these complications.
