I think one thing has become increasingly obvious to me over the years, developers sometimes stop working at a company they designed software for, and although it's possible to go through the code and pick up where they left off, it's daunting. This gets played out too often, Orange Vocoder, Airs Loom, Transfuser etc., MOTU's instruments, NI Absynth. That, IMO is what happened to Orange Vocoder.
