DrGonzo wrote: Wed Jun 08, 2022 6:47 am I know some people don't agree with me on this, but my main complaints about Softube synths is that they often lack effects. But with this one the Doubler and Drive are an excellent match that really pushes it into an alternative sound. I'll grab this one as soon as my morning coffee goes into effect.

Now I guess it's just a matter of days before Arturia does their 101 :)

Please do soundsets for all Softube's analog modelled synths... Including Modular 😇
Oh yes softube modular would be really nice :)
And of course the 3 model synths
Maybe you can redo your old Arturia Mini and your Roland system 1 - sh-101 and Tal Bassline presets.
I tried to enter the values from your sh-101 and Bassline expansions and they sound the same on all 3 softsynths

Is this really true ? Seems madness to not allow polyphony on a software version simply because the OG didn't have polyphony

Post

It is true. I personally wouldn't want polyphony on it, but I am sure if it was optional, both sides would be happy.

On the other hand, LuSH-101 feels like an entirely different synths to me. I think I prefer to have the original architecture.

I really like those synths, but, the fx is worst of the worse. The ones on V-Station are total crap as well.
ReFX Vanguard had absolutely horrible reverb, yet somehow it was used by "everyone", and nobody cared about the quality of the reverb.

I always forget the lush 101 was based on the sh 101..
I have lush, but haven't used it for awhile.. when I last used it, it used a lot of cpu and I stopped using it... now it crashes my mac (d16 are aware of it, but it wont' be fixed till the next version if there is ever a next version)

You get 1:1 on all platforms? Wow. That's actually really impressive. I don't have the System-1 any longer but I _really_ liked the plugouts for it. I will probably do something with this one, but whatever that will be it will be completely new material. Reprogramming presets is so soul-slaugtheringly boring that I rather vacuum-clean the house

Modular with all 3 model synths would be really nice.
And of cause some presets for these 3 synths …

I only tried some of your presets in softube Model 82, which I rebuild from your Roland system 1 expansion into Tal Bassline, because I sold my old Roland account. That’s why I rebuild Roland factory and your two expansions completely into Tal Bassline. It took me much time especially to compensate the second ADSR envelope. I’ve also done it to learn patching…
Now I have Roland cloud ….
So I rebuild 3 of these system-1 patches and two patches of your tall Bassline expansion.
I listened to all 3 plugins and they come really close.
Especially Roland and Tal version, if you ignore the effects. I later recognised some differences to the the softube version. On some of your presets I can’t get so close as I have done it from Roland to Tal.

I don't have experience with the original or the mono emulations (don't have Lush either though) so I'm curious do you not ever get moments using them where the mono feels restrictive or does it make for better creativity being restricted ?

Post

For me the latter..it is emulating a mono synth famous for bass, leads and arps.. so I will use it the same way I would use the hardware.

The legend for instance allows polyphony though it is based on the mono mini moog. I have never had need to use it in poly and actually never found appealing any poly patches I have heard on it.

My 2 cents.

Edit. Dash Glitch shows that Vital is pretty good synth too at recreating sounds
That video was debunked. And i see that he deleted it now.

It's wild that he didn't just use his ears more. It sounds pretty much just like the hardware.

Dartelec wrote: Wed Jun 08, 2022 8:31 am I tried the demo, found the promo code and bought the Model 82. To my ears it sounds one of the most juiciest and oomphiest VST's around! I like the Drive and Doubler very much too.

I used to own sh-09 and SH-101 back in the eighties and if my memory serves me right this is pretty close to SH-101!
Where did you find the promo code? I’ve got a ton of their plugins and I can’t find anything.
