Looks like they are adding a distortion module by the end of the month. Clues in their recent email and the SIGGRAPH video.

I use a Windows 7 ultimate PC and nearly all Win 10+ vsts are working. So is Cube. Would I get my money back if I buy Beam and its not working? Thanks!

Hi lunacy audio, how much will your multi effect cost when you have added all the addons? 300, 400, 500 dollars?
peace and love for all.

Think of it this way: each Beam effect works on its own within Beam. The question is—does each effect hold its own value individually? On top of that, you also get extra features when using multiple Beam effects together. This isn’t any different from how other plugin companies operate—except with Beam, you’re not just getting standalone effects; you’re also unlocking additional benefits within the framework.

Calling this a grift completely misses the point and the value it offers. If you don’t think an effect is worth it, you don’t have to buy it—just like with any other plugin.

We'd also like to mention that we're releasing all the BEAM effects as standalone plugins in April. If you buy an expansion effect like Volt or Time, you'll get access to the standalone version of the effect for no extra charge. It's a very similar model to Soundtoys Effect Rack if that's a helpful reference point.

New Effect is out.

Volt. Distortion, Multiband compression and a Feedback Delay Network.

That is excellent news and even more added value. In terms of the formate, I was also thinking of things like the Soundtoys rack, Kilohearts and I know there are others. Even Cherry Audio's modular with it's paid modules is another example.

I bring to your interest being a customer of beam and time add, I am happy. Just a question to know where the completion of the basic product could go in terms of pricing.
cableguys lost me with their shaperbox update system.
killohertz made their addons free while their first customers paid for them. The poorly managed choices of software companies and sometimes communication with their potential customers can lead to a sad end.
peace and love for all.

I am sorry but your brain has malfunctioned. When a company releases a commerical product there is a price. What do you want them to do?
