Phonec 3 announced; pre-orders open

I don't know how to import banks from Phonec 2, I know this was under development. The "IMPORT PRESET" function from the presets menus doesn't show anything at the moment and dropping and .bnk file has no effect either.

According to his Facebook: "importing banks will be available soon, after the initial release. So yes, currently you will need to save individual presets for import."

I love cleaner GUI. It's more easily readable and logically laid out to my eyes. Digging the additional OSC waves.

It's a mix of stuff added, and stuff taken away or changed. Phonec2 is in brackets:

-9 extra osc waveforms, 2 extra combination modes, drift control removed, 4 extra noise types, HP/LP and crush filters removed from noise osc, mixer section is combined into the osc section
-3 filter types with a combined total of 9 slope options (10 filter types, 20 slope options)
-9 LFO shapes and 16 targets (12 shapes and 20 targets)
-6 HFO waveforms and 11 targets (7 shapes and 13 targets)
-1 extra ENV modulator
-Aftertouch and modwheel can now modulate independently
-Amp and filter envelopes now have a curve slider
-Reworked chorus
-The echo now has a bandpass filter instead of lowpass & highpass filters, phase control removed
-Sequencer now has 16 steps instead of 8, a reworked UI, and a choice of chromatic or interval scale map, direction options removed
-Circuit and tape modes removed from melt
-Improved preset system
-Freely resizeable interface

I think that's mostly it. I noticed the pitch modulation is unipolar instead of bipolar so I'm hoping that gets fixed.

So it's largely worse is what I'm getting from that. Why would the dev remove so much? Bizarre.

FWIW the new SVF filter sounds really nice and better than anything on V2. Perhaps the dev might be able to explain the changes in context.

It’s going to be iterative improvements, presumably. It’s being rebuilt from scratch.

Here’s hoping all of the newly missing features are added back in. Not impressed, let’s just say.
