starforce - the currently uncrackable, but very bad for your system, games protection
wrong again...theses CDs can be copied.

Both system can be actually cracked and are already...

wrong
wrong

So SX legitimate run better?
:hihi:

No: just joking ...i don't know for SX because i don't know it neither have it, but i've seen plenty of ppls using it.(yes 3, yes cracked)

And for Starforce3 here's the How-To,
hope you speak french (if not: use a translator or go directly to the last page and click the picture)
http://www.tutoriaux-excalibur.com/starforce-3.htm

Of course i don't have to repeat that this is only for personnal backup.
im sorry but you are wrong - sx 3 is not cracked in any kind of stable form

and that description of how to get round starforce no longer works - you see the people who make protections can read these things too
I believe every thread should devolve into character attacks and witch-burning. It really helps the discussion.

It work til 3.4xx

and for newer games
more precision then: with last ver.you have to extract the CD key and write an image with this key to your harddrive.
this dated from 20 april 2005. Have they already read about it and upgrade Starforce since? wow fast...

And remember that this is a protection when you have the original CD so going thru starforce at home is a thing and finding these games cracked on P2P or whatever other network is another.

let me view some recent source on the net where it is expressely stated that this cannot be done...forums, articles etc...

OK,

now this makes sense to me. If it is as you said. Would you do me a favour and point me directly to some reliable info about exactly that problem?
That was Lawrence Lessig, and he is not allowed to read from his own book aloud.
Consider Middlemarch first. If you click on my e-book copy of Middlemarch, you’ll see a fancy cover, and then a button at the bottom called Permissions.

If you click on the Permissions button, you’ll see a list of the permissions that the publisher purports to grant with this book.

According to my eBook Reader, I have the permission to copy to the clipboard of the computer ten text selections every ten days. (So far, I’ve copied no text to the clipboard.) I also have the permission to print ten pages from the book every ten days. Lastly, I have the permission to use the Read Aloud button to hear Middlemarch read aloud through the computer.

Here’s the e-book for another work in the public domain (including the translation): Aristotle’s Politics.

According to its permissions, no printing or copying is permitted at all. But fortunately, you can use the Read Aloud button to hear the book.

Finally (and most embarrassingly), here are the permissions for the original e- book version of my last book, The Future of Ideas:

No copying, no printing, and don’t you dare try to listen to this book!

i'm very late in my reply, but urs, regarding how my model 'doesnt work' for audio software... first, you dont actually need to put that much time into it, i should know, i've done it. also, if commercial audio software cannot exist by this model with real value applied to it, (audio software according to you is worth nothing to anyone), you'd better start coding webservers.
