The same thing happened at the same time of year a couple of years ago. That time we went to see Black Widow to get out of the house, this time it was Asteroid City. I'm starting to suspect Scarlett Johansson is responsible for damage to the power grid.
(Asteroid City was the better movie, absurd humor with even the serious and dark stuff being handled in kind of a goofy way.)

Finally bringing things back full circle, connecting Push 3 to the modular rack via CV out/CV tools.
This is going to be great with mmMidi because I don’t have to sacrifice the 4 CV outs for clock or transport and (mmMidi) still have 2 channels of gate/pitch/velocity with dead simple setup from Push.
So now I have 4 CV outs for various modulation.
Also had a nice realization that I don’t need Opsix anymore…
The timing is horrible with the new release, but I still haven’t replaced my 88 keyboard, and now I think I’m closer to being able to do that.
Still likely going to wait for NI keyboard releases. I don’t care about it as much as before they’ve become a weird fragmented company, but still curious if they have a plan.
And Spectraphon is fun.

After trying to continue playing 2/3 fingers simultaneously on the right hand, I realized that I need to be very familiar with each LinnStrument's splits' ranges in order to understand what options I have at any point in time, so I need to use the bottom six pan head screws as references to columns, with the various positions of the palm of my hands as references to rows.
This is also a good time to transition to using the LinnStrument with the lights off, so I can focus on just my palms for tactile feedback. I will dedicate a session again two days from now.

I gave up on going DAWless. Le sigh.
The main issue is usability, for me. I'm vision-impaired (diabetic retinopathy) so things like an Aira or Volca are difficult to use even with a magnifying glass. And programming a sequencer through a magnifying glass SUCKS.
My space is limited as well, enough for 3 Volcas and an Aira - enough to make some banging tracks - IF I coulkd see what the eff I was doing. Something bigger won't fit, or is too damn expensive like an MPC. I'm so screwed on that front.
I have a 32inch monitor and run Windows Magnifier at 300% and can tool around in Waveform no issues. I can zoom in further for VST with stupidly tiny interfaces. The computer, an Akai MPK Mini Mk3 and an Akai MPD218 all fit with room left for a big coffee mug (required to make ambient, you know). And with sales I've loaded up on a freaking pro studio's worth of quality instruments without getting a second mortgage on my soul.
Well, I had to try it as I grew up on hardware. But those days are long, long gone.
Back to cursing at plugins...

Finally bothered to watch a tutorial on how to use the Behringer sequencer like I have on my MS-101 and Crave and it’s not going to win awards, but it does have a few handy functions available per note like slide, ratchets and variable note lengths. Looking forward to the Edge arriving so I can try syncing up all three.

I have decided to log entries regarding my musical progress on Poly Expression in the LinnStrumentalists' Log thread I created there, instead of the Studio Log thread here, because I want to develop Poly Expression's community. KVR Audio is doing just fine as is.

Native Instruments got me, help!
Since I had budgeted for hardware this month, and NI had a hyge freaking sale on a few things I've been GASing over, I shot my wad on Lores, Schema:Dark, and Molekular.
Currently sitting down and watching tutorials on all 3. Thank Goddess for coffee!
Also looking at larger controllers to pair with my MPD218, my MPK Mini won't cut it any more and my old Alesis V61 is Too Damn Big. Maybe the Akai MPK Mini Plus, 37 keys will fit on my desk and give me enough range to bounce around like I want with orchestral/cinematic instruments.
Someday, I'll make music...

i did very little in my studio "only" because my studio is so very little.
i have a focusrite solo and lowest of the line m-audio monitor speakers. and a zoom audio recorder. a used electric guitar, a used electric bass guitar and a tr-707 roland drum machine.
and also, because i have very little talent as a songwriter.
but it's fun.

Picked up some decent free guitar pedal style plugins from Nembrini Audio. They do an excellent RAT clone named BLACK for nowt.
As they had decent free plugins I also bought some of their paid plugins, which are on sale, including a very nice AC30 amp clone.

Finally installed virtualhere (a usb-over-ethernet server) onto a raspberry pi model 'b-' (ie from when they only got 256Mb RAM, not 512Mb) and got it working properly over wifi.
So I can now connect remotely to USB devices in the studio from the computer in my other room meaning, I can reprogram some wee Eurorack modules and things like that from there. (All the IDEs/tools are already on that PC, and I dont really want any of them on the DAW. )
It also means I can do firmware updates and preset uploads etc etc on devices like the Microfreak that now need to be connected to a Win10 system, since my DAW is still Win7.
I reckon it should also work with one of the £3 (literally!) USB audio interfaces I have, so can possibly also send some firmwares changes to eh Mutable stuff that takes them as audio files. Last time I did any of that, trying to use my actual audio interface would have meant so much faff with cables that I wound up doing it from a field recorder instead.

Getting a headache trying to integrate all the controls on my Akai MPD218 into Waveform 12.
I have 3 banks of 6 endless encoders. I want 2 banks for track volume as I never use more than 12 tracks, and one bank for master volume and mix bus control (likely compression). But figuring out which cc's work for all this is a huge pain! Some work fine, some fail miserably, some.. do nothing. Seems random.
Argg. More coffee!!

Set up a preset on the Beatstep Pro to control the MicroGranny. Because of the slightly odd way the MG works, Ive done it for Controller Mode, but also modified the Drum Pad mapping. So I can use all three Sequencer lanes if I want. Bit of a shame the pad mapping seems to be global though. And there's only one Custom mapping.
Hooked the MG up through the ES-1's audio input, 'cause the ES-1 can do gating of that as part of its patterns.
Realised my ADA8200 had its optical cables the wrong way round and sorted.
Spent a couple of hours thoroughly 'testing' the ES-1/MG
