You'll let us know the outcome though if you don't mind, yeah?MaxSynths wrote:PM sent to keep the thread clean.legomegacy wrote:Hi,

seems like your intentions were good, maybe try asking in the samples forum for replacement samples?legomegacy wrote:Hi,
This is necromare. I just noticed this sub discussion going on about my VSTs. There was a question about me ripping a library...False.
I got my oud sounds from Here
http://wiki.laptop.org/go/Free_sound_samples
I took down my Vsts as a courtesy to the original sound makers on freesound.org as not to offend them. I had mis understood the cc licence and wanted to make amends.
There were some nasty e-mails and such about this from some uniformed sources but in the end i decided to just take the lot down and avoid all of the hassle that came with this debate.
Thanks
Necromare
seems a shame to pull everything.

Well I've simply said to him the same things I've wrote here, that I think he had not bad intention and that sometimes the "free" stuff you found online is not really free, etc...eidenk wrote:You'll let us know the outcome though if you don't mind, yeah?MaxSynths wrote:PM sent to keep the thread clean.legomegacy wrote:Hi,

Max, you adamantly claimed the Oud samples he used were stolen from a commercial library which is what prompted Necromare's post in this thread to say that wasn't the case, we aren't speaking about the free samples under CC license here. I am just wanting to know whether after those PMs with him you still maintain your initial claim about those samples or retract it.MaxSynths wrote:Well I've simply said to him the same things I've wrote here, that I think he had not bad intention and that sometimes the "free" stuff you found online is not really free, etc...eidenk wrote:You'll let us know the outcome though if you don't mind, yeah?MaxSynths wrote:PM sent to keep the thread clean.legomegacy wrote:Hi,

Perhaps you mean to say in your answer that the oud samples he found online under the CC license were stolen stuff?

helluva lot of work for necromare to replace all samples,
but prob best way. meanwhile, if someone could pm me with
the ones i'm missing...
yeah: too bad, necromare, you got bad emails. not deserved;
you did the work presenting the sounds. could've been any sounds,
right..
sonoton! that's what those library cds were called. and they
made hearing aids too, if it was the same company
:p
btw, what is the free version of Cubase that runs VST plugins?
does it do audio too?

Regarding microcomputer; Yes, demo was 404 but he is going to fix it and let us know. I downloaded it maybe 6 months ago but just used webarchive to get demo again yesterday. No point in linking until he puts up new link. There is an updated version (opensource) but only for linux called minicomputer.
Let you know.
