Indeed. I just logged into my Account, went to my Library, downloaded v1.3.3 installer from there and ran it from my Desktop. Simple, but effective!

The pricing on these Bernard bundles is ridiculous.
Okay, I decide that I don't want the ultimate bundle as I don't need all that stuff. So I go through everything and choose just the bundles that I know I really need.
At the top is the no brainer Generative Music Bundle. This is a must have if you're doing classic modular madness. But wait.
It's almost half the price of the Ultimate Bundle.
Wait, it gets worse.
One bundle is only 2 modules and one of those is in another bundle that I need.
So just 3 bundles in, I've exceeded the cost of the Ultimate Collection.
So basically, you're forced to get the Ultimate Collection unless there's only like one module you want.
The cost per module in the Ultimate Collection is $3.42 per.
Some collections, the cost per is over $10. And individual module prices can be as high as $25.
It's ridiculous.
I've already spent as much money on VM as I spent buying Omnisphere.
And I haven't even gotten to the new Vult Collection. That's $80.
This is a rabbit hole I'm starting to regret going down. Based on the slow development of Softube Modular and just about every other modular system out there, I could have never anticipated that modules would be coming out of this system like potato chips. At this pace, I can see this system running into thousands of dollars depending on how useful the incoming modules are.
But the bigger problem is the pricing. It's plainly obvious that the key modules of a collection are going to be the most costly. So much in fact, that just buying them and leaving out everything else, puts your cost above buying the whole package. So while there is a ton of stuff that I have no use for, leaving it out doesn't save me money. It actually ends up costing me MORE money just getting the stuff I need.
It's a brilliant strategy. Sell the key modules for a fortune and pretty much almost give away everything else but not quite. Make it so that buying the key modules actually costs you more money than buying everything. So you just end up buying everything.
If I didn't love this system so much I'd be fuming mad right now.
Anyway, I've budgeted myself for $2,500 this year. Something tells me that's not even going to come close to covering even the essentials for this system.
Well, it could be worse.
This could all be hardware.

While I cant say that I feel the individual devs work isn't worth the price they want to charge,
I do feel that limiting them to 2 free modules and a minimum $10.00 charge for everything else
is not very customer friendly. Fortunately for myself, I can pass on much of it since I already
spent $2000 bucks on a hardware modular and will not begin collecting Analog and Digital Modules
in parallel. A single money pit is enough, and TBH my needs have already been met with what I have now.

My strategy is simple: dont buy anything. I picked up VM, the PSP bundle and the first Vult bundle. done. I dont need anything else. Bring 'em on! I'll just ignore them.

I didn't buy the Vult bundle because I knew that he has much more modules to add, and I was expecting a bundle covering everything at a better price. It ends that he decided to keep the bundles separated for the time being. I will wait for the Vult Ultimate Bundle.

Agreed. I don't have a problem with any of the other pricing so far. I think Andrew Macaulay's bundle is great and a good price, however the Bernard bundles are all over the place price-wise and it has put me off a bit of what is so far a great platform. Hopefully CA can sort this out before the store/pricing becomes a head-f***.

Have you seen the NEW Vult's bundle, though?plexuss wrote: Fri Mar 01, 2019 5:26 pmMy strategy is simple: dont buy anything. I picked up VM, the PSP bundle and the first Vult bundle. done. I dont need anything else. Bring 'em on! I'll just ignore them.![]()
Also, have you noticed improved performance on Vult's original filters?

He said on FB there won't be Ultimate bundle. But instead, he'll be adding stuff free to existing bundles.fmr wrote: Fri Mar 01, 2019 5:32 pm I didn't buy the Vult bundle because I knew that he has much more modules to add, and I was expecting a bundle covering everything at a better price. I'm hanging back and waiting for VCV Rack to officially go VST. Should be in the next year. They seem to have a much more open policy regarding free and paid modules. They may level the playing field just by being more open and letting people build and charge what they want.

You know the VCV's VST will be $99 too?Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Fri Mar 01, 2019 6:25 pmI'm hanging back and waiting for VCV Rack to officially go VST. Should be in the next year. Don't be surprised if there will be more paid modules as well... Also, I think price of the modules & bundles is dictated by their authors, not by VM.

Do I get this right that enabling this splits the load (if possible) to multiple CPU cores / threads, so it's less likely than single core gets chocked with particularly complex patch; but the splitting and 'coordinating' of the jobs adds additional load compared to single-thread option?cherryDan wrote: Fri Mar 01, 2019 4:34 amMulti Threaded Mixing - On a fast computer with multiple cores, this feature can improve mixing performance considerably, but it will also use more CPU. You can activate this powerful new feature on the new CPU page of the Settings dialog.
