What will happen when I decide to unsubscribe from 12 and buy the upgrade instead when available?

If you stop the subscription, you'll be back to your Reason 11 and REs you bought previously. You'll need to upgrade to Reason 12 to access new sampler & combinator and/or buy the REs you got with Reason+ but that you did not buy previously (e.g. Algoritm, Friktion, Pattern Mutator, etc.).

It's also likely that even if you wouldn't use any of Reason 12 new devices and REs you don't own licenses for, you won't be able to open Reason+ projects in your "old" Reason 11 without upgrading it.

Yeh, and it will be twice as CPU efficient on launch...apparently beta/R+ users will get the new combiner tonight/tommorow....it looks like the GUI makers are going to have a lot to be happy about!

I am getting fabulous sounds with just a slice slowed down with either tape or granular (and a bit of mod on speed), filter and compression...drop a reverb on (my current faveroute Blue Depth) and its ambient heaven!

EDIT: no, it's not in the beta channel of R+, you have to go to actual beta page / account

What else is new?
The Insert FX containers for mixer channels and Master Section are no longer combinators. We retain the containers per se, but you cannot load a combi patch or adjust combi rotaries from the channel strips. Instead, insert FX containers can now contain combinators.

What in actual f**k?! They're not only NOT adding features to the DAW, but now started to STRIP IT from existing features??????

Combinators can now be nested inside mix/audio insert sections and inside the master section (thus the wider mix/audio channels and master section). We used to be able to load single Combinator patches into the insert section programmer, which is now gone, but we can not put as many combinators as we want inside the insert sections.

I am pretty new to Reason, but surely this is an improvement?

Not for me. I never needed that. Whereas I was using the "remote" knobs & buttons available in Mixer page to control my track & master inserts

OK, not something I was even aware of! Benefits of being a new user

Still- combiner 2 looks pretty exciting if this type of thing can be done!

A lot of good, obviously (from above) the editor is very capable, assigning parameters directly from devices with right click, unlimited number of slots, built in mixer and more CV inputs...

Very good, I think - they're streamlining it - I found it always weird and inconsistent they way it was - I just don't think it made a lot of sense....
