Hey, even I got some Epointz from someone now. Whoever that was I say the following quote from a British TV-series.
"Thanks Hanks. THanks!"
5 Epointz from me next time I buy stuff from Esoundz to the one who can pin point the series. I guess it's easier for the Brits in here.

Bologna Time!

We're at 329 right now. How about we do a little thread bumping and see if we can get this GB above 400?
p. s. to autodafe - Yes, that's it. I'm sure ours is a little different, because our's usually is usually spelled O-S-C-A-R M-A-Y-E-R B-O-L-O-G-N-A. It's from an old TV commercial. Oscar Mayer is a big processor of lunchen meats and hot dogs.
Eating fried Bologna Sandwiches is maybe from the southern US, but I don't think many people do it any more.
Now I'm sorry I brought this up. It is so not drums!

...KM54 and KM56's... those are some of the best sounding mics in the world and Ken's desert island picks I think. I asked him once about that... it's between those and the U67 for all around We also sampled a beautiful Steinway with Ken when we were at Rob Thomas's studio (that has a rare Trident A Range). I guess he uses that piano on Matchbox 20 albums but that piano has been used on some classic albums since it used to be called American Studios. We sampled the B3 that was used on "Born To Be Wild" there as well (also miked up by Ken). For the Leslie he used Coles 4038s (ribbon) for the horn left and right and I believe an EV RE20 for the bass speaker. But for the piano it was all KM56's like he would have done with Elton (Ken recorded Rocket Man, Mad Man Across The Water, Daniel... all sorts of classics) or with Supertramp (the piano sound on Crime of the Century is unbelievable!).
So, cool to have a few pianos recorded by Ken also coming for the Infinite Player.

Answering questions about tube mics on another forum... interesting read here?
There are some mics that are rare but people almost unanimously love and I think the KM54 and 56 fit into that category - at least for the engineers, studio owners and mic collectors that have them or have heard them.
But it's also good to have KM84s which are still vintage mics that many people say sound better than KM184s which is what you can get now. I have sets of all of those and they all work fine! Great mics no matter how you slice it. I do prefer the 84s personally over the 184s and I have fallen in love with KM54 and 56 mics.
Tube mics in general are often warmer and lend a wanted coloration to the sound. As technology progressed it was thought that doing away with external power supplies to make way for phantom power was an advance! Ken told me a lot of old U67s were turned into U87s for that convenience! Certain engineers like Ken and others at that time did notice differences between Tube and Solid State consoles and mics and most didn't like what was lost audibly for the gain in convenience. Since then I think many engineers have gotten used to the sound of very good solid state condenser mics which are also nice - just different. But guys like Ken, if they have the choice, will almost always choose (no I think always) a u67 over a u87, a KM54 over a KM84.
Most of all though, in THIS case since we were trying to recapture the authentic drum sounds he got in the 60's, 70's and early 80's, we used the appropriate mics he would have used back then for that reason. The videos on Videos- Sonic Reality Inc. on the Ken Scott Channel on the left tell you which mics were used on which drummer when you watch each drummer's behind the scenes video.
Oh the Epik Drums demos were the drummers playing, not programmed. The product comes with their own played audio grooves as well as the kits. Plus both the kits and the grooves are discrete multitrack. It's pretty deluxe! But you can slow down a crazy Cobham, Morgenstein or Bozzio groove to figure out what they played!
You can also play producer and mix it yourself, turn it into anything you want as if you were allowed to sample the record... in an over the top way!

That's approximately 19/day if we count from when the Group Buy started. With that pace we would end up at about 600. But the pace has decreased since the beginning of course. I don't know but right now I think there's 5-10 new customers a day. We need at least 5/day to reach 400+ so we will reach that level for surebronxsound wrote:334 now

It's 336. Could be picking up! Been quiet in the forums lately. These things take work! But if more people are reached then more people can join. I'm still working on the demos so that might give a boost too. It ain't over till the fat lady sings! Plenty of people out there who want a great deal on drums.

But it's somewhat on topic when compared to the English version - fried SPAM
