Thanks for the update for MAC!
New VST plug-in is very good in general, but it is often a good idea can not fully manifest itself because of some minor problems that do not allow the program to work well, or even impossible to do the job!
I have a terrible thing that keeps me normal test program!
Now I'm talking about the VST plugin to DP.
As before, there are problems when working in a cycle:
- There is always sustain MIDI notes (endless sustain after a stop cycle) until reset the sound MIDI notes (With DP I do it with the "Stop sounding MIDI notes." That is, continuous tone MIDI notes.
- Also not play the first note in the cycle (sometimes two). I have the impression that it is often the last note in the cycle continues to play at the beginning of the cycle! Unfortunately, this problem only exists with the RC, but with other instruments that require a good synchronization (such as drum machines) in the cycle synchronization and playback of the first and subsequent notes is very good.
- Often while playing in the cycle and in editing MIDI notes in real time synchronization is bad and need to stop and start the cycle again, to maintain synchronization.
Again, I write about DP and RC VST for MAC OS.
Other improvements I liked especially that allows you to make a simple phrase.

- Auto-preview phrases
- Make an active cycle of the selected phrase
By the way, maybe you forgot to do in the inspector phrases and track "collapse of all groups"?
And please - please find soon way to fix infinite sustain MIDI notes in the loop!

Yes, in my case, in a cycle, place of the first note cycle plays note located outside the loop. The first note is played only once when you click play!
If outside the loop MIDI notes is not present, the first note in the cycle does not play.
And there are frequent moments of freezing plugin

Thank you lulukom, I'll make sure the plug-in is tested in DP more thoroughly, especially the cycle.
Actually I don't remember if the cycle problems were fixed in DP that were reported to MOTU. I suppose you are using the latest version of DP8. I have to check but I think most hacks and workarounds are removed from the RC VST plug-in that were meant to fix cycle playback issues in VST hosts.

but as long I got back to the variant when the standalone program to play the instruments in the DP ...

Variations / Simplify Phrase is a super option!
One of the many tricks (which I probably will write later) is the use of a "simplify phrase" for Drums midi track!
Usually (in RC) uses one MIDI drum track for the main drum track patterns and different drum instruments have different MIDI notes!
To quickly build a drum patterns may be used to "Simplify phrase" and other variations.
But it does take
1. Make the option "Do not change the length of notes"
2. Make the option "Use a variation for the specific MIDI notes" (Apply for C2 -Kiсk Dram , for D2 - Snare Drum , ETC. )
But maybe it can be solved by selection specific notes in a phrase?
It is also of use for a specific MIDI notes can be done for other variations and used for drum tracks and OTHER TRACKS OF POLYPHONIC.
(For the Drum track then possible to use "Delay notes", "SwapChordNotes","Add interval " , ETC)
And maybe have already to do a special variation for Drum tracks?
3. And it would be very good to make it possible to move (up-down) variation, because changes in the structure of chain of variations gives different results.

I know what you are trying to achieve. I can tell you there is already a new variation called "Extract Rhythm" that replaces all notes of a phrase with either the bass note, or any chord notes (1st, 2nd, 3rd, or top), or any absolute note, of course overlapping notes are handled properly.
Using this variation (and others like Delay Notes and Simplify Phrase) you'll be able to make a bass track or a percussion track automatically from a generated (or loaded) melody phrase. You regenerate the melody, the bass track and the percussion track changes too, because they are ghosts of the melody phrase. This is a new area in RC so it requires some experimentation.
This will be possible when ghost phrases work between tracks which will happen very soon.

Please note the slider should be disabled when the selection is other than 'Absolute Note', but this is already fixed.

Then comes out of the program by force.

I left the program running playback in a loop, it should run for hours until I stop it. At least memory usage does not change.

This is worrying. Can you start 'Activity Monitor' and check the program memory usage? No, it will be also in the LE version. It is so new that only the next beta version will have it.As I understand, "Extract Rhythm" in LE version is not present? Ok, I got it!
This silly bug was fixed today. yellukhan already reported this, but I thought that was in the VST plug-in.Why moves the cursor jumps from one bar to another?

I am having the following problem:
I have just tried Rapidcomposer vst on my Mac OS with Ableton Live. I have opened an existing project and I want to generate some melodies and basslines in the middle of the song. Now when I open the bridged RC program, I can see that the play position is synchronized. But the window only shows the first bar. So I can't get to see the playhead. Then I stretch the composition window. But I can only stretch it to bar 19 maximum. I still can't see the playhead, because in my Ableton project I'm at bar 40.
If I right click on the timeline, I can see the window with the formats etc. On the bottom I see the "Region Enabled" option and below "Region Start" and "Region Stop". When I check the option Region Enabled and set Region Start to 40.0.0 it does nothing. The window still shows only the first bar.
What am I doing wrong?

I do not use the VST version but maybe this will help you Soman, from the standalone version technique;
Place your cursor at the timeline and press the <CTRL> key (<CMD> key on the Mac). The cursor will change to a double end arrow. Now, while holding the key, drag left or right to change the number of bars shown, until you reach the desired length. To the left will squash the timeline, showing more bars, while to the right will broaden the time line, showing fewer bars but a wider per bar workspace.
Now you should see the play back location and can maneuver from there.
You can manually enter the time you want the playhead to be at by inserting it into the box where it says "Time" (at top right of the compostion page). However, while it will move the playhead to the desired position it does not always show where it is at. It would be better if it would move to and show the playhead position IMHO.
We could probably use a "Go to Bar" command on the Timeline Inspector as well. Or possibly a key command. I think "J" (for "Jump") is still available.

So still I have the problem and no solution.
