So has anyone saved presets in this Emu and then loaded them on the Virus C? What’s the process look like?

In a nutshell..
We had a meeting with them a few months back at the Waldorf HQ and it looked promising
After sending them a copy of the Micro Q emulator to play around with they weren't happy with the amount of resources it used in comparison to the likes of Serum etc
We would still love to work with Waldorf but aren't sure how to proceed, if we release the Micro Q emulator now then that means burning all bridges with them which we totally want to avoid

The was no official permission from Virus I assume so is there a difference? Even if they are released as just 'emulators only' (no ROM) initially then I am sure when any of the original ROM suppliers want to get on board the product can then become a paid for product (if that is your aim) and many (myself included) will happily buy it for an official version, ROM use and support.
X32 Desk, i9 PC, S88MK3, S1, BWS, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6 Pro3, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone II, OP1-F, OPXY, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

...sounds like a long term unpublished side project until the resource problem can be resolved to Waldorf's satisfaction. The question remains: Do you continue or not?

We are in the same boat with the Virus Ti, we have a fully working product but again are hoping for official supportSLiC wrote: Fri Nov 04, 2022 2:31 pm The was no official permission from Virus I assume so is there a difference? I really hope you get it, it's an amazing project- maybe building up a large 'unofficial' user base will help influence them and others! I can't believe they are turning away the prospect of free money for tech they no longer even sell or in many cases support.numerouno wrote: Fri Nov 04, 2022 2:38 pm [*]We are in the same boat with the Virus Ti, we have a fully working product but again are hoping for official supportSLiC wrote: Fri Nov 04, 2022 2:31 pm The was no official permission from Virus I assume so is there a difference? Just keep doing what you are doing- release and wait, the penny will drop eventually I am sure!

Thanks. Bit of a shame, but, somewhat understandable, considering that they revived the microWave with the M synthesizer, and might have planned the same with other classic synths, or even might release a software replicating them. (Meaning that a third party replica which takes loads of CPU cycles might not be a good representation of their tech in their eyes. Just speculation on their reasons.)numerouno wrote: Fri Nov 04, 2022 2:26 pmIn a nutshell..

I also see the performance as the biggest issue, but, as I understand it's hardly possible to do it another way. On my 11th gen Intel i5, I can maybe run 2 instances of the Virus C rom. In comparison, I can probably run several dozens of instances of Spire.

That's actually a really good idea, but I would say that is something the community need to setup rather than us as developers, but we would back you 100%SLiC wrote: Fri Nov 04, 2022 2:43 pm"maybe building up a large 'unofficial' user base will help influence them and others!"numerouno wrote: Fri Nov 04, 2022 2:38 pm [*]We are in the same boat with the Virus Ti, we have a fully working product but again are hoping for official supportSLiC wrote: Fri Nov 04, 2022 2:31 pm The was no official permission from Virus I assume so is there a difference? I definitely wish you the best of luck in your negotiations with the manufacturers. I think going the official way was the right decision, despite the setbacks.

Uhm, I didn't get it, I am afraid, so is there a new version to be checked out or not?
EDIT: Ah ok, then tell Waldorf what you need to improve the cpu usage? Still don't get...

I dont see them doing a virtual version of the MicroQ. The MicroQ's code eventually evolved and turned into the Blofeld (sort of), which means it lives in Largo too. I am a bit shocked they even entertained the idea of it, but they are crazy Waldorf. Make that thing efficient and they just may let you run with it.chk071 wrote: Fri Nov 04, 2022 2:50 pm Thanks. So you will guys release emulations like the Viruses, but only for synths that are out of production. And only if the company doesn't want to work with you. But if the company doesn't want to work with you then still no? Thanks for letting us know.
