Yes, we're planning on making Companion native Silicon, too, it's on our internal road map. Right now it runs under Rosetta but that doesn't impact its ability to handle Silicon native REs and since Companion isn't very resource demanding a native version was not deemed crucial for launch.
Also, just a notice, yesterday we pushed several updates to Companion updates that solved some intermittent issues updating REs to Silicon on M2 computers specifically. If you had issues getting any of your REs upgraded through Companion, it should now be fixed. All 750+ Rack Extensions have a Silicon version of the latest available version (even for discontinued REs!), but Companion didn't quite deliver them properly on M2 processors due to a bug

Thank you for reaching out
What really matters is Reason being AS native at last
As far as I’m concerned, Companion app can wait

Thanks @Anosou
Now if only you can convince your colleagues to get us loyal non-plus Reasonites that new Objekt for free, since until now in version 12 we only got Mimic as a new instrument …

To be fair, Reason 12 - in its entire run - has brought 12 owners a lot of improvements (as well as a ton of bug fixes):
Improved browser search (including multiple improvements over 12's run, including speed and optimization and New device filters in the browser, duplicate filter, etc)
Reason is now high resolution (including serveral graphics improvements over 12's run)
Added new device: Mimic Creative Sampler (several feature improvements for Mimic also appeared over 12's run)
Monotone has been updated and now supports sustain pedal
The ReGroove Mixer has a new look
Significantly increased speed and stability when scaling graphics
Rack Extension versions are now hi-res and all future ones are automatically built as hi-res
The Combinator has been updated with new features and possibilities - You can now customize the Combinator panel by changing its size, choosing and positioning controls, changing panel color, and adding a custom background with transparency
The Combinator now has a summing mixer built-in to make it easier to add several instruments
Insert FX and Master FX section have been re-worked and are no longer treated as Combinators
You can now add Combinators inside the Insert FX and Master FX sections
The sound bank has been updated (100 new Combinator patches added, 1000 Combinator patches has been updated to take advantage of the new Combinator features, 100 new instrument patches added)
Added new Combinator Widgets (controls and switches)
Added Remote support for several MIDI controllers (many updates during 12's run)
Implemented Silent Login in Reason DAW so that when you choose to remember your credentials, Reason logs you in automatically
You can now remove your saved credentials in the Reason Preferences
Complete rewrite of how Reason handles multicore audio
Reason can now host VST3 Instrument, Effect and Utility plug-ins (sevreal fixes and improvements for VST3 support in 12's run)
Reason now resets the audio output of a device when you change the patch.
This is to make sure the loaded patch sounds as expected right away and to avoid feedback, loud noises, or other unwanted sounds when changing patches
Seamless Offline mode
Apple silicon support (M1/M2), including all RE's

Overall 12 starts to be a very very solid update.
For 13, I really dream about MPE and CLAP support.

You’ll probably get Linux support before CLAP support.
